My good friend wanted me to try Nigerian food for the first time, he found this place on instagram. Adeola met us at the door when we arrived, we didn’t know it was take out only. Still, she welcomed us to a plate, and let me taste many things that she had prepared. It was amazing. Her hospitality is by far the best I have ever experienced. She felt like family. I will 1000% be back when I visit Sacramento more in the future.

I had such an incredible experience ordering from this African kitchen! From the moment I connected with the chef, she was warm, welcoming, and genuinely understanding. Her hospitality alone makes you feel at home — and the food speaks even louder.
I ordered a tray of jollof rice, meat pie, moi moi, and pounded yam with ogbono soup — and every single item was perfection. The jollof rice was rich, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The moi moi was soft, smooth, and well-seasoned. The meat pie had the perfect flaky crust with a delicious, savory filling. And the pounded yam with ogbono soup? Absolutely outstanding — thick, hearty, and truly authentic. Every bite tasted like home.
I’ve been to several African restaurants and kitchens across California and even on the East Coast, and I can confidently say she is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to cooking. This is by far the best authentic African meal I have purchased in California.
The kitchen is clean, well-organized, and clearly maintained with high standards. You can taste the care, passion, and authenticity in every dish.

We’ve always loved ordering from this place because the food is really good! However, consistency is a big issue. The food we bought the other day had extremely chewy meat maybe it was rushed!
We ordered four stews: I specifically requested 2 ogbono, one veggie with goat meat and one with fish, but when I opened the containers, it was all goat meat!
Also, just because this place doesn’t have much competition doesn’t mean service should be lacking. When we called at 11 AM, we were told pickup would be in 45 minutes because the food was still cooking. When we arrived, we were asked to wait 10 minutes, which ended up being another 20 plus minutes, and then were told to wait 5 more minutes. This kind of service is frustrating and unprofessional.
Even if the food is good, the hassle and lack of consistency really take away from the experience!

Reminder: cash or cash app only. Super nice chef/owner and delicious food! Drop by to pick up food to take home or for a picnic. We needed some food separate for a child and she was very kind helping us find options that worked.
