We arrived at Nagwon Garden on a Saturday afternoon; we were the only people there the entire time. As other reviews have said already this is a mom-and-pop operation. The menu is extensive but if you are interested in Korean BBQ the first page is where you’ll want to stop. We chose beef and spicy pork for our BBQ. For appetizers we ordered the highly recommended seafood pancake as well as the dumplings.

Small dishes of pickled vegetables were brought to the table. The appetizers were brought to the table and it should be no surprise that the seafood pancake was the big winner. Lightly battered and loaded with all kinds of seafood it was an amazing appetizer; the flavor and texture were fantastic!

Hot coals were brought to the table followed by the beef and spicy pork. The server cut up the meat for us and placed it on the grill. Once the beef was perfectly charred, she put the pork on to the grill as well. Both the pork and beef were perfectly seasoned and the crispy edges were delicious.

As I was researching Korean BBQ restaurants in our area, I came across Soju. It seems to be the unofficial national drink of South Korea. Scentless with a taste more like watered-down vodka. Served cold, it was a nice addition to the meal.

The final cost of our meal with tip was over $130 for four people. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. Fun place to take a date or a party wanting to celebrate a special event. We will definitely be back.

One of the best Korean seafood and green onion pancake I had in years, they used fresh ingredients and were perfectly cooked, it was delicious! Fish stew was also very tasty, cozy atmosphere and very friendly staffs. Only thing was little bit too smoky when they BBQ indoors, so I suggest not dressing up in expensive attire, so you don’t go home smelling like BBQ. wear comfortable clothing. Came back for kimchi stew and vegetables / beef hot stone fried rice, it was very filling and delicious.

This was my first experience with authentic Korean food and I LOVED IT. I found the food to be a bit on the higher side but it was a mom and pop store and very authentic. After the meal, the give you a nice watermelon slice. I have tried the cold noodles and the black bean noodles. My only complaint is that there is not much meat in the meals.

Solid bibimbap, and actually really good naengmyeon. They do a good selection of appetizer dishes and it’s quiet on the weekends which is really great if you’re entertaining your clients or just really craving Korean barbecue.

First class tofu chige, generous and delicious seafood pancakes. However, the charcoal grilled short ribs and spicy pork were amazing. Not too sweet and the charcoal adds smoke with drying out the meat. Highly recommend

Best Korean BBQ in Philly hands down! Don’t sleep on this place — food is excellent, not to mention the service. We got bulgogi BBQ and my mind was blown. Extremely attentive staff as well that help out with the BBQ and refill the banchan. Had my birthday dinner here and I can’t wait to go back — highly recommend!

The closest I can get to Korea in Philly!!! After living in KR for a year, I am always on the hunt for real Korean food that hits like back home and this is it. We got the stir fried pork and kimchi (김치제육볶음) and the hot stone bibimbap (돌솥비빔밥) and they were incredible. The kimchi and pork were so tender and flavorful. The owner is so sweet, she served us, chatted with us in Korean, and gave us extra hot sauce for the bibimbap!! Of all the Korean places I’ve been to in the US, this may be my number one. Cannot wait to come back!

Literal Mom&Pop shop (woman runs the entire front operation; man seems to run the back by himself) with authentic Korean food.

They use charcoal for their grills so you’ll smell a little like a cookout when you leave but we had a great experience.

Ordered:
Bulgogi with Naengmyeon combo (they bring bulgogi out to you fully cooked. Not part of their bbq section)
Chicken fried rice (korean version which may be a little plain for some people but we thought was delicious)
Fried mondu (korean dumplings; their filling reminded me of a perogi with Korean flavors. really liked it)

Everything was what we hoped. With tax the total was $70 or $80 and was enough for 3 people (just two of us and we had PLENTY of leftovers)

The best Korean bbq in Philly so far! They use charcoal instead of gas and the meat tastes absolutely AMAZING!!! The prices are great! And it’s totally worth it.
