Savored the authentic flavors of the Kothimbir wadi, Komdi vade & Malwani thali with mouth-watering Shrikhand as our dessert. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. Will surely come back to try more items!
Starters were solid (masala papad, fried pomfret, chicken sukkha). Veg Kolhapuri and chapati were good, kala rassa chicken was decent but not fully authentic, and the bhakri felt more like a thick chapati. Garlic rice hit the spot.
Drinks :- mukhwas old fashion – bit on sweeter side , Alphonso spirit – not worth it.
Takeout standouts: poha tarri (flavorful but missing the heat) and Malwani surmai (outstanding—best dish of the night though being an entree it came with only 1 piece of fish )
Overall: tasty food, different from the usual Indian restaurants, but not fully original Saoji. Worth a stop if you’re nearby, not worth a long drive.
By the way all the people are extremely helpful & warm ; special mention of Joe – for the great conversation .
Overall review : Great. Flavor was similar to the food back home. Will visit again.
We started with the masala chai and Fish Fry(Bombil). The tea smelled great and had a good taste.
The fish fry was bit salty for me, but perfect for my partner.
We had the Misal Pav, which was nice and spicy. The pav was sweet and did not go well the misal. The misal itself was good and spicy and I preferred having it alone.
We got the Malvani Fish Thali and the Saoji Mutton Thali. The bhakri and solkadhi was amazing. The Thecha was nice and spicy.
The Malvani fish curry had a coconut texture and the fish fry with it was less but good.
The mutton was simply amazing, though the mutton curry and the extra mutton side pieces tasted the same.
We also got the kolhapuri mutton curry as a side dish (It comes with extra rice) which was flavorful and spicy. We got a couple pieces of bone marrow along with that which was a bonus.
We will probably visit again some weekday to try their kolhapuri thalis.
