Delicious food, friendly warm service, and cheerful ambience! Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch experience at Nagpuri Saoji.

Savored the authentic flavors of the Kothimbir wadi, Komdi vade & Malwani thali with mouth-watering Shrikhand as our dessert. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. Will surely come back to try more items!

Tried Nagpuri Saoji in Edison after driving 80miles
Starters were solid (masala papad, fried pomfret, chicken sukkha). Veg Kolhapuri and chapati were good, kala rassa chicken was decent but not fully authentic, and the bhakri felt more like a thick chapati. Garlic rice hit the spot.
Drinks :- mukhwas old fashion – bit on sweeter side , Alphonso spirit – not worth it.

Takeout standouts: poha tarri (flavorful but missing the heat) and Malwani surmai (outstanding—best dish of the night though being an entree it came with only 1 piece of fish )

Overall: tasty food, different from the usual Indian restaurants, but not fully original Saoji. Worth a stop if you’re nearby, not worth a long drive.

Tried the saoji’s special chicken kala masala curry, chicken sukka, pomfret tawa fry, bhakri, and chaas. The chicken kala masala curry was the clear standout—rich, spicy, and truly lived up to its reputation as their specialty. The chicken sukka was good as an appetizer, but the pomfret tawa fry was disappointing and lacked flavor. Overall, a decent experience, but the kala masala curry is what I’d come back for

Ever since we saw the name of the place – we wanted to try it & finally we are really happy to have made it hear . The saoji goat curry & thay sol kadhi is something we will keep coming back to. We would also love to try the thaali someday. The food , the taste, the ambience , the overall experience & even the parking experience – everything made us pat on our back for finding this place. It has an elevator too – so its easy from people with strollers or wheel chairs will find it easy too.
By the way all the people are extremely helpful & warm ; special mention of Joe – for the great conversation .

We recently ordered food for our housewarming event in Monroe Township, and the experience was outstanding! The authentic Marathi flavors truly reminded everyone of home. Thanks to Swapna’s thoughtfulness, the spice level was customized to suit everyone’s taste, without losing the traditional touch. Special mention to Uday Kurella who went above and beyond to deliver on time, serve guests warmly and wrap up efficiently. Highly recommended for anyone looking for genuine Maharashtrian cuisine!

Don’t miss the saoji curry! Egg saoji masala with bhakri, vada pav, and chicken vade were all excellent. Strong sol kadhi. Must visit.

Only the 2nd place in NJ NY region to have authentic Maharashtrian food.. Loved the Saoji Goat Curry and Kombdi Vade… the misal pav was as good as Mumbai.. Surmai was fresh and prepared to perfection. Definitely a repeat customer.

We visited this place on a Sunday since my partner has never had Nagpuri style food and another friend of mine wanted the misal pav.
Overall review : Great. Flavor was similar to the food back home. Will visit again.

We started with the masala chai and Fish Fry(Bombil). The tea smelled great and had a good taste.
The fish fry was bit salty for me, but perfect for my partner.
We had the Misal Pav, which was nice and spicy. The pav was sweet and did not go well the misal. The misal itself was good and spicy and I preferred having it alone.

We got the Malvani Fish Thali and the Saoji Mutton Thali. The bhakri and solkadhi was amazing. The Thecha was nice and spicy.
The Malvani fish curry had a coconut texture and the fish fry with it was less but good.
The mutton was simply amazing, though the mutton curry and the extra mutton side pieces tasted the same.
We also got the kolhapuri mutton curry as a side dish (It comes with extra rice) which was flavorful and spicy. We got a couple pieces of bone marrow along with that which was a bonus.
We will probably visit again some weekday to try their kolhapuri thalis.

The location is perfect and the parking garage offers plenty of space, making the visit stress-free. While they have a great variety of vegetarian options, the food itself was just average. As a fan of Indian cuisine, I felt the flavors lacked authenticity—the famous Vada Pav, in particular, didn’t come close to the original Mumbai taste. The service and atmosphere are lovely, but the kitchen needs to dial in those traditional flavors to match the vibe.

This time food was good along with the people. We had vadapav, chicken/ goat Saoji and Kolhapuri thali along with puran poli and shrikhand. Though it was not Indian level spicy, taste was good!
