What a WONDERFUL experience!!! My sister in law and I decided Mexican food was a good idea for dinner – turns out it was the best decision we made all weekend. It was a chilly winter evening and I’m assuming most locals were staying in for the night. We were greeted quickly and warmly. We sat down and I had ordered a mojito – our waitress apologized and said they were out of mint. She brought me a drink menu but after thinking about it, I asked for a “mojito” without the mint. She graciously said “of course!”
We were enthralled with the menu when she came back with a minted mojito! She said, “we went next door and got you some mint”. WHAT AMAZING, OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I cannot remember the last time any place that offered such great service! On top of that, the food was great- it was hot, it was fresh and delicious. The side salsas were so incredibly tasty with such incredible heat that was still fresh tasting – tasting nothing like bottled or premade sauces or salsas at other Mexican restaurants.
The next time I’m back in this area I will most DEFINITELY be back!

I can’t say enough about this restaurant!! The food is always fresh, the staff are always kind, and it’s worth a drive over the bridge if you don’t live in AB. I always get the vegetable fajitas, add chicken. The vegetables are carrots, spinach, mushrooms, zucchini, squash, peppers and onions and is never greasy and full of flavor. The enchiladas are on point and their seafood dishes are sourced local seafood.
We have friends that visit every year and this is the first place they love to come eat. You won’t be disappointed and will leave with a full belly and a full soul. Cheers!

It was late, we were hungry, and the place was open. We were pleasantly surprised as the food was very good. The burrito I got was as good as Chubby Tacos in Raleigh which is high praise. I prefer to get seafood at the beach, but it was late evening in January so I got the shrimp. I would go again.

I was here the other night because it was one of the only restaurants open still and I must say it was the blandest Mexican food I have ever eaten! You can even see from the pictures the food had no seasoning on it whatsoever. I also ordered a mango margarita which was super sweet so I had to order extra tequila for it. The chips were fresh, nice and crisp. It is a cute little place and my server was super friendly but that is not enough to bring me back to eat here again.

It wasn’t cold, it wasn’t dirty, it wasn’t loud. That is my wife’s input and she is very attuned to the atmosphere. The food was excellent and clearly homemade which is a good thing in my opinion. Our waitress was very friendly and very attentive. The food was ready quickly and we went during the dinner hour but did not have to wait to be seated and did not have to wait long to order or get our food which is a plus! Portion size was adequate for me and more than enough for my wife.

This was a great all around experience. I was a little skeptical when we pulled up because it seemed like a small place that wasn’t very busy. But there is more than meets the eye! We were lucky enough to be served by Nacho himself, who offered not only great service for us but he has created a great restaurant experience. The restaurant is rather new, but you can tell he has a lot of experience in service and he has put a lot of work into his restaurant. On his recommendation I tried the tostadas (not something I would normally order) but I was pleasantly surprised at the great flavor and good quality of the ingredients. I would definitely recommend that along with the chili rellano, which was one of the best I’ve ever had! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food and we will definitely return when in the area. I hope the locals have embraced this place and will keep it open for many years to come.

Nachos is a decent little Mexican place. The food is reliably good, it’s fresh and they are one of the few restaurants open year round. The prices are in line with the portions, which are generous.
Their beans & rice are both delicious.
They are also open when they say they will be which is not always the case in Atlantic Beach.
The restaurant is extremely clean.
Service has always been pleasant and efficient.

I just got a Spinach Quesadilla and it was very salty (I’ve seen that remark in other reviews and it’s true). My friend got Alambre Texano (basically fajitas without the facial and covered with cheese) and the whole plate seemed very plentiful for the money. Lots of leftovers. She didn’t complain about it being to salty, but we were talking a lot so there’s that.
The chips and salsa were so, so.
The staff was super friendly and efficient and the place was very clean (I think the Sanitation Grade was a 97 or 98).
I would for sure go back and just ask for light or no salt. Worth another try.

This one is a 50/50 toss up with part being outstanding and part being inedible. The service is exceptional with our server having detailed knowledge of the menu. The atmosphere is ok, nothing that would wow you.

This experience was a journey of diverging paths. My carnitas were amazing. The pork had a fantastic bark with the interior being juicy, cooked to perfection. The bad part came with the burrito Mexicanos which was so salty, it was really hard to take even one bite.

I was super impressed with the homemade corn tortillas that came with thr carnitas. If there was one defining takeaway, it has to be the carnitas. This is my barometer for whether I return to try more dishes. Despite how good they were, the rest of my experience leaves uncertain about another go.

The chips, imho, are slightly over fried, but ok. My first impression of the salsa was that it reminded me of a mediocre pasta sauce. They do have a spicy Ranchero salsa and when I say spicy, it’s hot . The heat just kills the flavor.

As for the margaritas, meh. Too damn sweet. Why do places have to go to far to the sweet side? Less is best, imo.

Food was just okay, my daughter ordered the kids taco and took one bite and didn’t like the manager wouldn’t take it off the check. Never had fajitas come out on a tray they were just okay. Services was also slow.
