I recently dined at Na Rath Restaurant in Elmhurst, Queens, and overall it was a memorable experience with a few mixed notes.
The highlights of the meal were definitely the steamed fish and the tom yum soup. The steamed fish was fresh, delicate, and perfectly seasoned — tender and flavorful without being overpowering. The tom yum soup was outstanding: rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced with that signature spicy and tangy kick. Both dishes really showcased authentic flavors and were the stars of the table.
The service was amazing from start to finish. The staff was attentive, friendly, and quick to respond to anything we needed. They made us feel welcome and comfortable throughout the meal. The ambience was also great — clean, cozy, and lively without being too loud, making it a nice spot for both casual dinners and small gatherings.
The only downside was the crab salad. While it tasted fine at the time, I unfortunately felt unwell afterward and experienced some stomach issues. It may have just been an isolated incident, but it’s worth noting.
Overall, Na Rath Restaurant offers delicious dishes, excellent service, and a great atmosphere. I’d definitely return for the steamed fish and tom yum soup, but I might skip the crab salad next time.

As someone who deeply respects Thai cuisine, dining at Na Rath Thai Restaurant was truly special. Every dish was thoughtful and authentic. Knowing the head chef serves the Thai Consulate and has cooked for the King of Thailand’s sister makes this experience unforgettable. Highly recommend.

I had such a great experience at Na Rath Restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious — the larb tuna salad was so fresh and flavorful, and the crying tiger wagyu with garlic fried rice was out of this world! Their mocktail drinks were also really refreshing and tasty. The atmosphere was welcoming, and everything came together for a wonderful dining experience. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to!

Was curious about their lunch buffet special and Khanom Jeen. $18.99 pp.
For starters, Chive pancakes, roast veggies, Pad see ew and papaya salad (spicy!) were all ok. Fish cake and Breaded Chicken were dry. Food trays on warmers but don’t think they kept them hot enough, like the fried rice which was cold.

Had to ask about the 6 curries – weren’t labeled at first. From different regions. Some had proteins like chicken feet, pork, chicken. One was fish but only saw a few pcs of halved fishballs. The peanut curry was slightly sweet and was just the sauce. One was very spicy so just took the veggies and meat.
Instructions were finally posted on how to put together the curries with the noodles and toppings, which were set up on the table as well.
It was a good tasting.

Service was good. Preferred cash payment but accepted credit cards with added 3% fee.
Decor was bright with colorful flowers hanging from ceiling etc. Space is not that big. Restroom available.
Some street cleaning parking and the rest were metered along Whitney Ave.

The Thai food here is really delicious — the flavors are truly authentic! I recommend ordering the beef fried rice with grilled beef (I forgot the exact name of the dish ). The fried rice is super tasty. Highly recommended! But I didn’t take a photo of the dish

Food is pretty decent for $18.95, buffet lunch and you even get a free first drink. If you’re looking for budget-friendly, authentic Thai flavors with real spice, definitely come here and order à la carte!

Had the E-Sarn buffet. Food’s great! Staff were really nice and attentive. Kana Moo Krob (Crispy pork + Chinese Broccoli) and Durian ice cream were the best!

Fish is really good. Family run! The all you can eat is no longer available, they are replaced with meal sets that are more worth it.

One of my favorite Thai restaurant. Food is super authentic and good. It’s not as sweet as the Thai you’d get here that would have accustom to the taste in America. I’d said it’s comparable to actual Thai food in Thailand! This is definitely a mom and pop shop so the food and drinks do come out a little slower when there are more people but I’d say it’s well worth! Everything was delicious. Drinks were so pretty and tastes really good as well. But beware of the spice level as it is actually Asian SPICY

I came for the “ka-nom-jeen” buffet. The price is good and the portions are generous — they even included a free drink. However, most of the curries were too salty for my taste, and the green curry chicken was very sweet. In my opinion, the curries could have been spicier. Still, their generosity with the food is definitely a big plus.
