A small shop that’s better suited for takeout rather than dine ins. The food itself is quite decent and the service was quick. They had several roll options and platters/bowls. I order the chicken biryani – it was aromatic and the rice/chicken was cooked really well. I wouldn’t call it authentic Dum Biryani since the onion wasn’t cooked fully until it was dark. The chai was also great and I would highly recommend.

Do yourself a favor do not waste your money here . Chicken was half raw tons of fat not cut or cooked properly. I have had Indian food plenty of times. I ordered the chicken tikka masala wrap (naan ) The flatbread wasn’t fresh and wasn’t even warmed up . Everything tasted off . Sloppy cooks who are unprofessional. When I told them chicken wasn’t fully cooked he said” I’ll pass it on to the manager “ like hello you are in charge I’m sure he was the manager too . Did not apologize or even offer to remake it . I would have declined no thanks don’t want food poisoning. I threw out the wrap so did my friend .

New Location, Same Amazing Food. I went for the grand opening last week, and absolutely loved the new location. Beautiful and welcoming space and the flavor of the food remains undefeated. The kebab with the yogurt sauce was delicious. I will definitely be passing by multiple times this summer!

WORST INDIAN FOOD I ever had!
Both the rice and paneer were severely undercooked and the palak was a tomatoe-based sauce with bits of spinach. Tasted nothing like palak paneer.
Also tiny portion for $18!!
Go somewhere else.

I bought the chicken vindaloo bowl for $18.50. For a price like that, my expectations were pretty high. The food was SUCH a disappointment. The chicken was tough, the bowl itself was watery. For $18.50 you’re served white rice alongside it? I know places that serve better, authentic food than this place. Chicken was big chunks, DRY, and not as flavorful. I don’t know HOW this place has this many good reviews. I feel scammed.

SAVE YOUR MONEY.

Honestly it is not worth the price. I had a Palak paneer bowl. The curry had triple the salt of usual. The guy at the counter, when mentioned so, just apologized. If the meal wasn’t paid by the Client, I’d have argued and got a refund. Service was also so so. The curry was just heated in the microwave and given. The naan bread felt more like a poor cousin of pita bread. I should have gone elsewhere for dinner.

Worse Indian food I’ve ever had and is certainly not authentic. I hate to waste money on something so precious as my stomach and this was a total waste of money get new recipes or don’t call yourself Indian food. Why is my masala chicken so red it’s supposed to be orange isn’t it?? This was red and crunchy from coleslaw?? and not tasty except for cilantro? I don’t know if it’s because food has Portuguese influence or what. Just terrible my stomach is appalled. Either the cook doesn’t care, doesn’t wash their hands or both that’s how I feel about this garbage. Y’all are playing with my stomach and I don’t appreciate it because it is unsettled and I only had a few bites before turned off. Samosa was old not fresh like it had been sitting all day baking out under lights and spice covered up the flavor. Glass bottled Mango juice was good.

Found their truck at the Grand Bazaar NYC and tried my first Indian burrito (basically)! Naan bread stuffed with tikka masala, sauces, herbs, etc…and rolled up gloriously. Great flavor with spicy and zesty notes.

I have complex feelings about this place mostly because the very first thing I ordered was just a vegetable Samosa and I enjoyed it so much that I got another one but today I just bought food. I got a butter chicken bowl and a vegetable Samosa. I was not given any utensils for a dish that obviously needs utensils if not eaten with, naan. I also was not given sauce for my vegtable samosa, though it is incredibly hard to eat without a sauce considering that is quite dry being made of just pastry and potatoes. Hardly any rice with the butter chicken that I ordered was mostly large, cut onions and dry chicken, barely covered in a sauce. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anybody unless you go just for samosas and make sure you beg them for sauce but I also don’t think I would even go back

I would give this place negative stars if I could. It’s expensive $18.50 for white rice and a main dish. I ordered chicken saag. I was given rice chicken vindaloo with a little spinach on the side. I brought the food back to the cashier and explained this is not what I ordered. She said that is what it is, chicken vindloo and saag on the side. I knew it eas that because my friend ordered chicken vindaloo. It didnt even taste good anyhow. The cashier stated the only difference was the spinach wasn’t blended. I said no, chicken saag is chicken stewed in the saag not separate items. She argued with me and continued to say the same thing. I asked for a refund and she continued to tell me different places make it differently. She kept saying that’s what you ordered. It’s ridiculous. I said if that’s what you’re giving people then you need to change the name and the picture. Then another worker came over and said we’re just workers and don’t control the food or signs. The two if them started talking to each which appeared as if she was telling her she gave me the wrong thing. But she never admitted it and it was one of the worst experiences I’ve had in a long time. The workers are rude and clueless. Please save your money and go somewhere else. Small portion, high cost, didn’t taste good, and horrible service. The
Urban Hawker is hot and doesn’t have comfortable seating. Much rather spend a little more and go to an actual restaurant.

Hi. Thank you for replying to my review. It was at the Urban Hawker location. I did get a refund. The employees should be trained better to know the food they are preparing and serving. They were also arguing with me which was not a pleasant experience especially with the uncomfortable confrontation it caused.
