The ramen was some of the best I’ve had! We all really enjoyed our respective meal. The host, and I believe the owner or manager, came by a couple of times to check in, which made the experience feel very welcoming.
We were impressed by the experience found it very pleasant. I highly recommend Mystic Ramen and will definitely stop by again the next time I’m in Hamilton.
Spicy miso was good but mushrooms tasted a bit too sour – didn’t really mesh with the bowl.
Khao soi was delicious!
Tokyo shoyu was also amazing – pork was well cooked.
The lychee seltzer was great, the melon seltzer was very strong. Overall great place, would recommend!

I stopped into Mystic Ramen on a cold, rainy winter night after a long day working a trade show that, unfortunately, had zero food vendors. I was exhausted, starving, and craving something that tasted like it came from a home — just not mine, because I had nothing left in me to cook. Even though I was ordering my meal to go, the warmth I felt the moment I stepped inside made me wish I could have stayed.
Lori greeted me at the door with genuine kindness. She immediately picked up that it was my first visit and guided me through the menu with the kind of care that makes you feel looked after. When you’re tired and hungry, that kind of hospitality hits differently.
I ordered a half portion of the Karaage — marinated chicken thighs lightly coated in flour and potato starch, fried perfectly crisp, and served with a bright yuzu aioli. For my main, I chose the Tantanmen: their signature tori paitan broth with tantanmen tare. I swapped the pork for chicken and added a ramen egg.
Even in a takeout container, everything was exceptional. The Karaage stayed crisp, the broth was rich and comforting, and the whole meal tasted like something I could happily eat every single day. It was exactly the kind of nourishment I needed after a long, hungry day.
If you enjoy a bit of heat, my only advice is to ask them to turn it up a notch — the flavours are incredible on their own, but a little extra spice would make it sing even louder.
Mystic Ramen delivered comfort, flavour, and kindness — even to go. I’ll absolutely be back.
The staff is also very friendly and kind, which just adds to the positive experience. I suggest booking a reservation as well.
The ramen has a spectacular flavour and you can see the dedication in every dish, this is a place for enjoying amazing food but most importantly a great environment.
Staff is always ready to help you out if you have no idea what to order, the decoration and every detail around the restaurant is my favourite part, even though the food is delicious, that is what I enjoy the most about this place.
