Mystic Kitchen, located on 1867 North Memorial Highway in Shavertown, Pennsylvania, is a clean and inviting breakfast/lunch diner with a charming staff. The comfortable establishment consists of a handful of tables with plenty of stool seating at the bar. We were fortunate enough to visit on a sun-filled morning, as the diner’s interior was filled with plenty of daylight coming through the windows. My only complaint is that cushions should be placed on the wrought-iron chairs.
We arrived shortly after 11 on a Monday morning, were warmly greeted by our server, and immediately seated. Just before 11:30, our late breakfast was placed on our table.

The three-egg, meat-lovers omelette was very good. The fluffy eggs were filled with ham, sausage, and cheese. The dish came with a side of homefries and two slices of toast.

The show-stopper, however, were the blueberry buckle pancakes, topped with fresh blueberries, powdered sugar, tasty cinnamon strudel, and a rich vanilla glaze. The two pancakes were very big, almost covering the entire plate.

In addition to omelettes, pancakes, and eggs, Mystic Kitchen also offers a variety of hand-pressed burgers, an assortment of sandwiches, wraps, and salads.

Mystic Kitchen inhabits a structure that housed a couple of failures in the past, but I hope this place can survive. Parking is sufficient for such a small diner, but access to the parking lot can be a little tricky, as there is very little space between the highway and the parking lot. Locals can no doubt navigate the entrance and exit points, but I hope those not familiar with the property don’t find it off-putting to the point where they decide to dine elsewhere. It would be a shame, since Mystic Kitchen has a lot to offer their customers in terms of a quick quality meal and pleasant service.

We stopped in for an early lunch and were happy that breakfast items were still available. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. The stuffed French toast was delicious. Country fried chicken was good, a lot of gravy. Mashed potatoes were yummy with lumps, not over mashed. Chicken tenders came with fresh cut fries. We will definitely be back. I’m looking forward to trying some of their sandwiches and other breakfast items. The restaurant was very busy and a little warm. It was very hot outside.

We really enjoyed our breakfast! I couldn’t even finish the omelette. Potatoes were seasoned very nicely and cooked perfectly. Employees were kind and welcoming!

Super cute little restaurant, serving breakfast and sandwiches. I ordered the Monte Cristo. It was fresh and made to order. As a Hazletonian I was surprised to see a Meatball and Scamutz sandwich on the menu – which my hubby ordered. Both sandwiches were delicious and hit the spot. I will gladly go back next time Im in the back mountain.

Was in the area for a getaway and went to Mystic Kitchen for breakfast one day. Best decision I made that day. We were waited on by Alexis and she was exceptional! Made several suggestions and we took her advice on all and we were not disappointed. Blueberry streudal pancakes were de-li-cious!! The omlete and homefries were scrump-tious!! If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by.

I swung by Mystic Kitchen near closing time about 2:15 in the afternoon the other day. I needed a quick pick-me-up because I was between meals and I put off lunch. The Mystic Hot chicken sandwich was out of this world; you COULD call this place a diner, but it wouldn’t be doing justice to these perfectly fried chicken breasts; pounded and brined.  It was perfectly breaded with a crisp crunch, almost like a cornflake batter. It was also double stacked with pepper jack (Eminem in my head) and the BBQ/hot honey sauce was not too sweet or spicy, but perfectly tangy.

I’m not just saying this to help a local business; these are the best damn hand-cut, house-made chips you’ll ever have! They’re cut to the perfect thickness and they’re not overly seasoned or salted, but they’re still seasoned enough to flavor and great for scooping up that tasty sauce.

What I absolutely didn’t expect to happen was to see the sweetest family moment…I felt like Bourdain a bit, being allowed in on this simple yet beautiful everyday scene. You could tell this is a family owned business because Mom was bringing in staples from the store for tomorrow, asking about the drawer because she was opening. The chef, (who agreed that scrapple is one of the best breakfast meats) had his daughter helping in the front of the house. It’s good to see young people being present, helping others. I’ll most certainly be back!

Walking in to this recently new establishment it was packed. Spoiler this is the old Amelia’s Diner on Dallas across from the Burger King. This is a very welcoming place, your welcomed here, so looking for a breakfast I ordered the Chorizo omelette, for those who don’t know what that is it’s Mexican sausage, it has a little spice to it, it also has tomato and pesto. Now it comes with your choice of toast which I got rye for a change, a long with their potatoes. The omelette was very delicious and those taters were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. They offer a full menu so I will definitely be back to try a lunch or dinner, until next video be blessed everyone.

My fiance, our baby and I stopped for breakfast the other morning. Our waitress was so friendly and kind to us. She loved our son. Honestly we’ve had terrible service almost everywhere lately.. she really was great! I’m sad we didn’t catch her name, but all of the employees are very good there. It’s my new favorite breakfast spot! Not to mention the food is always delicious. Never let me down!
