The restaurant is on the small side but decor was enchanting, authentic Thai and the atmosphere was cozy and clean despite it being chock full of people!
The presumed owner cleared a lone table for us that had other things on it and was able to accommodate us rather quickly. We ordered the Thai crispy chicken, the red curry rice dish with beef and the pad Thai with shrimp, which 3 of us shared. The food came quickly! All of the meals were excellent and well presented. Very tasty and the portions were a perfect size for lunch – not too big and not too small!
We had excellent service by the gentleman we had, who seemed to be the only person working the tables, I am presuming was the owner. It appears the restaurant is family-run. He was very friendly, humerous and upbeat. We really enjoyed our visit and will be back again! Thank you for the nice lunch My Thai Village!
Curry needed a bit more flavor & thickness but was not bad for Kanata standards.
The chicken sticks are tasty and the peanut sate sauce compliments perfectly.
My only requests would be for the owners to give us that authentic home house curry they make for their loved ones.
They also need to add a fried egg option & simple soup broth to their delivery app choices.
I would of certainly added both to my order. Coconut rice was pretty good.
Glad I had extra peanut sauce to put on the rice before topping with the yellow curry.
4.3/5
Restaurant’s homey and clean.. not too many dine in customers (although it might be due to the bad weather on a Monday..)
Constant stream of take out orders when we first sat down though.
Last but not least, the food was great! We tried the red, and green chicken curries (with coconut rice, yum!), shrimp spring roll, and thai iced tea. Great presentation and balance of flavours. Only thing I would’ve liked to see is more protein (chicken) in the curries, but it was still very good.
For dessert, we had the fried banana with vanilla bean ice cream, and the tapioca. Both were excellent – tapioca if you prefer less sweet.
All in all, highly recommend this restaurant – first tried it 4 yrs ago and it’s still as good as I remembered.
