Food was delicious. Great service too. Highly recommended!
The Thai-style papaya salad with no chili was surprisingly our favorite! still perfectly balanced, sweet, and tangy even without the heat. The seafood tom yum at level 1 had a gentle spice that even non-spicy eaters can enjoy. Everything tasted fresh and the portions were big.
As someone who grew up eating Thai food and spicy dishes, I really appreciate how well the chef keeps the flavors rich even when the food isn’t spicy… not easy to do! Excellent service from the two young Thai men who took care of us. Shout out to them!
After a day on the mountain, we found this absolute gem in South Lake Tahoe. It’s easily one of the best Asian restaurants in town—just look at the wall of awards!
The Wait:
Don’t be intimidated by the crowd. We checked in and went back to the car to stay warm. They quoted us 35 minutes, but it was actually closer to 20. Very efficient service!
The Food (Portions are HUGE):
• Avocado Curry: The highlight! It’s served in a homemade, deep-fried tortilla bowl. I didn’t realize it was edible at first, but it is so delicious once it soaks up the curry.
A Tip on the Rice: I ordered a side of jasmine rice, which was delicious, but the portions are so generous and the tortilla bowl is so filling that I ended up way too full! Next time, I might skip the extra rice and just enjoy the curry with the “bowl.”
• Pad Thai: Perfectly cooked with a great balance of sweet and savory.
• Cashew Chicken: Fresh, crunchy, and perfectly cooked.
The staff was incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere is warm and cozy. We left completely stuffed and happy. If you’re in Tahoe, do not skip this place!
Standouts:
• Pad Thai – Perfect sweet–tangy balance with springy noodles and just the right wok aroma.
• Green Curry – Fragrant and silky, with tender vegetables and basil; heat levels are spot on to your request.
• Tom Kha – Bright coconut-lime broth with galangal and lemongrass that feels equal parts comfort and sparkle.
• Pad See Ew or Drunken Noodles – Gorgeously chewy noodles with real wok char; deeply satisfying.
• Basil (Pad Krapow) – Punchy, aromatic, and loaded with fresh chilies and holy basil.
• Starters – Crispy spring rolls and chicken satay (great peanut sauce) make easy crowd-pleasers.
• Dessert – Mango sticky rice when in season is a must; Thai tea is balanced, not cloying.
Ingredients taste fresh, proteins are tender, and sauces are layered rather than sugary. Portions are generous without being heavy, and prices feel fair given the quality. The dining room is clean and comfortable—lively enough for a fun dinner, calm enough to actually talk. Staff are friendly, attentive, and happy to guide spice levels or offer pairing suggestions.
My Thai Cuisine delivers consistent, vibrant Thai flavors with genuine hospitality. It’s the spot you’ll revisit for weeknight comfort and bring friends to on the weekend. Highly recommended.
It was absolutely delicious! The only reason why I think it doesn’t have five stars from everyone is because he serve the food as it is ready. So it’s kind of funny, but my husband came out and we waited probably another 5 to 7 minutes for my meal to arrive. We just laughed about it and we both dove in and it was incredible!
He had a Pad Thai with shrimp and chicken, and I had the pad see ew with fried tofu. We both think it’s the best Thai we’ve had in many many years, if not ever!
We highly recommend, and look at the pretty picture of the inside of their place too!
The Avacado Rolls were a delight and really filling. Tom Yum soup was good and opens up your palette. The hungover noodles was delicious but with a lot of meat, which worked perfectly for me.
Next time in Tahoe, will come back for sure!
