Both barbecue sauces were amazing, but we both agreed the spicy one takes the crown. The pulled pork sandwich was a little on the dry side, so we definitely put that sauce to work—but even then, it was still pretty solid.
The atmosphere was great and everyone working was super nice. Definitely a place we’d try again!
Bought 5lbs of brisket ($120 total) for a last minute playoffs game party! Very tender and great bark, was delicious and worth it! Everyone loved it, 10/10. Support local businesses cause this was so good!
The brisket was the best I’ve ever had from a store. Tender, juicy and perfectly seasoned – not dry or chewy like some store bought brisket I’ve had.
The chicken wings were perfectly smoked. I recommend extra hot sauce if you like them spicy.
The ribs were also perfectly seasoned and cooked..I prefer my ribs to be fall off the bone or at least pull clean from the bone – these were a little chewy for my liking, but the sauce and the taste were phenomenal. Perfectly smoked and seasoned.
The pickles were to die for and the Mac and Cheese the perfect comfort food for me.
Highly recommended. Definitely the best BBQ place in Tacoma in my opinion.
I liked the prices and liked the “family” type of atmosphere
Sadly the Bbq lacked flavor and our ribs were pretty dried out , brisket was extremely fatty and oily , I also give two stars because when our brisket was weighed for the “1/2lb” the distributor took off meat to lessen the weight instead of fat which was sketchy we would rather pay for what we actually consume MEAT not fat which they kept in to even out the scale (kind of scammy) .
The potatoes in the potato salad were rock hard and no flavor , I couldn’t even taste mayo or atleast salt and pepper . The beans tasted straight out the can no flavor . We brought it home to add our own seasoning but still the beans and potatoe salad were inedible . The $0.25 cent corn muffins were diabolic in size , size of a quarter and dry ! Kinda strange. The only somewhat of flavor was the bbq sauce which didn’t stand out.
I feel like atleast booting the flavors would help this place reboost its reputation.
Non assuming little corner spot. Definitely what I would call a BBQ joint versus a BBQ restaurant (this is a good thing, BTW).
I ordered the burnt ends as this is the special on Saturdays from what I understand. Serving sizes were generous. It came with dill pickle and onion slices which was appropriate. It also came with a little cup of sauce which honestly, might be some of the best restaurant BBQ sauce I’ve ever had. Not sweet, but well spiced and it complemented the burnt ends nicely.
I also got a medium side of Smoked BBQ Beans. I ordered a medium sized cup before I noticed the cup sizes on the wall above me and medium is really big. I didn’t really care for the beans. Had a bit of traditional “pork and beans” flavor to them which I’m not a fan of. But these were definitely house made and not canned which some BBQ spots I’ve tried have been know for just doctoring up canned beans. Not here.
I also got 2 mini cornbread muffins. These were sweet corn bread so if you enjoy that, you’ll probably like these. But sweet cornbread is something my Georgia palette will not abide.
Lastly, the service. It wasn’t unfriendly, but wasn’t overly friendly either. Felt a bit like my presence was a minor annoyance. I didn’t feel like they were particularly glad to see me. The people ahead of me got the same reception.
