The service was excellent . Sashimi was, as expected, fresh, but the fish slices were, in my opinion, too thin such that the flavour and texture of the different types of fish did not come through.
The overall taste was good with the accompaniment of fresh radish and shiso leaves , along with the generous amount of wasabi and pickled ginger.
Tempura was crispy, and we enjoyed the fresh prawns as much as the vegetables.

Amazing, food was sooooo good and the price is reasonable. The quality is 10 out of 10. The oysters and the soft shell crab were so freakin finger licking good. Loved it, and I’m coming back for sure.

My son decided to treat me to dinner this past Sunday. Knowing that I love sushi and am very particular about it, he chose this restaurant. He had heard great things about it. What he heard was true! This place was a hidden gem.
The first thing that I noticed was that even though it was in a little shopping center, the parking was plentiful and the spaces offered plenty of room. I am always nervous about getting my car scratched in tight spaces and I did not need to worry about that.
As we walked in, we were immediately seated. The atmosphere was very nice. It was well lit, which I enjoy because it makes it easier for me to read the menu and see the food. I also enjoyed the fact that it was not loud. We were able to carry on a conversation even though there were many other patrons there. The waitress was always available, yet never hovering.
We selected several rolls and my son chose some nigiri. I am not usually a fan of nigiri. I tend to prefer rolls with their toppings and sauces. My son suggested that we share all of the dishes. I agreed, but thought that I would not really like the nigiri. Well, I was wrong. The nigiri at Mutsumi Sushi was AMAZING! I loved the toppings and flavoring on each one. The flavors were subtle, but distinct. I was actually blown away. I will no longer avoid nigiri…at least at this restaurant.
I was getting full after our first round of food, but it was so delicious that we ordered more. That was equally as delicious. Two of my favorite rolls were the Cajun Deluxe Roll and the Chatsworth Roll. We topped our meal off with some Tempura Ice Cream. It was the perfect ending to a perfect meal! I will definitely be returning to this lovely restaurant.

Went with my mom to this place last Sunday, and we had an amazing time! Mutsumi is located in a perfect little intersection, and we had no trouble finding parking!
The hostess was very friendly, and found us a table immediately. While we were deciding on what to order, the servers gave us some great recommendations. I even got to try some new things, such as the baked scallops on the B.S.C. Roll, and King Mackerel.
But even my usual favorites such as salmon nigiri and seared tuna were quite delicious! I loved the care and attention that went into the plating and garnishes. Every little crunch, bit of spice, or savoriness added up to make each item stand out. My mom and I shared a few rolls, and a handful of nigiri and never felt like I was breaking the bank or my belt!
I would definitely come back here with friends to try out many of their other specials. The place even has a classy enough atmosphere to come here on a date or business meeting, for sure!

I went here because of recommendations from several redditors and unfortunately it was a bit disappointing. Ordered my usual faves: unagi, salmon skin roll and crispy rice with spicy tuna… they were all a bit on a bland side and the sushi rice was mediocre. The crispy rice was a bit too crunchy and hard. Service was friendly and quick, but the ambience was kinda sparse. Price was surprisingly reasonable, at least compared to Honshu sushi nearby.

What a nice restaurant! This place is the best restaurant I’ve ever had!!! The interior looks like I am really in sushi restaurant in Japan. Moreover, this place where you can truly feel the expression that food melts in your mouth. All the ingredients are fresh and the high quality is used. I can make memories while eating delicious food with good people, in a good place. I can experience the best meal with the people I love and share many stories with good memories. I am looking forward to going to this place again!

If you’re tired of the real noisy and a bit stressful AYCE sushi places, this is the place to go to. It’s a more relaxed and quiet dining experience here. You’re not constantly looking at the menu trying to figure out what you’re going to order for your next round. Unlike AYCE sushi places, the rice ratio in the sushi is just right. AYCE sushi places tend to overload each sushi piece with more rice. The staff is very friendly and efficient. The small parking lot gets full easily but you can also park for free on the street. Very good chirashi dinner! The sushi here is very fresh.

Legitimately good sushi, and I eat sushi in Japan. My test is aji and saba (mackerel), which they passed. It wasn’t just ok, it was GOOD.
It’s not close to me, but I looking forward to going again and bringing my wife (who’s Japanese).
I came with friends, so we were mostly drinking and eating basic sushi, but I see they have many of the nice plated items I get in Japan, looking forward to trying some of them next time!

Came here because it was late. Had to wait a bit. Sushi was ok, a bit on the pricey side…after all it’s a sushi place…like hundreds of others in LA…hot sake was good though. …not likely to return….no reason to.

This restaurant is located in the suburbs and offers authentic Japanese quality sushi. You can eat great sushi at a reasonable price, so you don’t have to worry about the lack of access. I’ll come back later. thank you
