The interior design is beautiful. Cozy and elegant with a modern look.
Even though they accept walk-ins, a reservation is highly encouraged for a better experience.
The staff was super friendly and easy to talk to. Got seated right away, he even asked us our seating preference 🙂 (closer to the chef the better).
The manager was serving us and he explained the menu and personal favorites which were the wagyu uni hand roll, the wagyu yakitori and the sushi platter. Everything was delicious, fresh and perfectly balanced.
Must check it out!
Mutsu is a newly opened Japanese izakaya that’s already worth the visit. The space is stunning—the bar is carved from stone, softly lit, and feels both modern and intimate. Sitting there, you get a front-row seat to watch the chefs in action, which really adds to the whole experience.
The food was fantastic—a fresh spin on Japanese classics. Even the simple things, like miso soup and edamame, tasted elevated. The fennel salad was a standout too—so fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The bao were pillowy soft and packed with flavor, and the bowls (we tried wagyu and salmon) were beautifully presented and tasted just as good as they looked.
But the star for me? The black sesame crème brûlée. Absolutely amazing—rich just as needed, and unlike anything I’ve had before.
Overall, Mutsu nails the balance of atmosphere, design, and flavor. It’s the kind of place you want to come back to, and I’m excited to see how the menu evolves now that they’ve just opened.
Go try now!
Had such a fun time watching our delicious dishes being made at their insanely impressive bar. The vibe inside was immaculate and the music was on point. Will absolutely come back!!
Don’t skip the carpaccios and the Yuzu cheesecake . Best experience is at the counter! Enjoy!!
