The service was great! Attentive and kind. The atmosphere was lovely. It’s a bit small inside but they make great use of the space. Decorations are cool and lighting is nice too. So excited to try more of the menu!
Food
I came here with my sister and mom on a Thursday evening after work and everything just hit the spot. We got a wide variety of food from sushi to ramen to grilled squid.
The sashimi combo B was pretty good. The fish was fresh and there was decent portions of each piece of sashimi.
I got the kimchi cheese tonkotsu ramen. The tonkotsu broth was my favorite part of this dish. The cheese sounded good when I was ordering but didn’t live up to my expectations which was fine.
My sister really liked the muto spicy negi and she loved how there was so much green onion on top of it! Tons of veggies!
The grilled who squid really impressed me when it came out and it also tasted good! Make sure to dip it in the sauce!
We got the Tan tan men to go for my dad and he liked it overall. Good amount of meat and the broth was good. Of course, I’m sure it would’ve been better fresh from the kitchen at the restaurant since it’s a noodles dish though.
Atmosphere
Casual vibes since it’s an izakaya, a place to get food and drinks after a long day. Restaurant was a little bit on the darker side. Noise level was actually pretty low which was nice.
Pricing
Prices are average for most of the food and gives good value for the wide variety of food you can get and the quality. Definitely worth for any kind of Japanese food craving you might have.
Service
Service was just okay. Server didn’t stop by too often and we had to wave them down a couple times. The staff was nice.
Other
There’s a parking lot right in front and plenty of spots.
Food:
• The ramen was spot-on! The noodles were al dente, just like you’d find in Japan. Absolutely perfect!
• Sushi was incredible, too—so fresh it literally melted in my mouth. You can tell they use top-notch ingredients.
Service:
• The staff here really know what they’re doing. They were super friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed.
• It felt like real Japanese hospitality, which added so much to the experience.
Atmosphere:
• Loved the decor! The walls are full of pictures that tell the restaurant’s story. It’s like dining in a place that’s both historic and modern.
• They even have cool merchandise for sale, which is a fun touch.
Overall, Muto Izakaya was worth every penny. If you’re craving authentic Japanese food, this is the place to go. Highly recommend checking it out!
I’ve had their fried oyster, pork katsu curry, red volcano tonkatsu ramen, tonkatsu ramen, and muto spicy negi ramen so far (with many more to try).
Each dish has been flavorful and had me craving more!
PLEASE TRY THE CREAMY MENTAIKO UDON OMG. It was so goooood!
