Obsessed with this casual BBQ spot! Every skewer is grilled to smoky perfection, and tender beef, crispy grilled veggies, even the lotus root is addictive. Friendly service, cozy vibe, zero complaints. 10/10 recommend!
1.The ingredients are really fresh. Their squid is much fresher than other places; it’s not tough and chewy like you get elsewhere.
2.The oysters are bigger. They initially forgot our oyster order, and we waited for an hour without getting it. But they proactively gave us an extra one to make up for it. Great service recovery.
3.The food is consistently delicious. The quality is always reliable.
Also of note, they calculate their tips AFTER tax, AND bring the payment to you with a tip already selected. Might be them, might just be the program, but either way it’s not great. Go to Oyama BBQ in Pleasant Hill instead.
To be honest, it is hard to find a BBQ place around noon( almost all are open at 5 pm) . So this should be a right one when you want to eat BBQ in the day time .
We were there around at 11:30am , only last one table leave , full already !
Tradition BBQ . Yummy! Special 金针菇& 鹌鹑蛋. But I wondering Chinese chives don’t like roasted…
Everything here tastes just like the skewers you’d find back in China — perfectly grilled, seasoned just right, and full of flavor.
The menu has a great variety, from classic lamb skewers to chicken wings, veggies, and even some fun street-style snacks. Each bite is smoky, juicy, and addictive — we kept ordering more!
The atmosphere is cozy and lively, making it a perfect place to come with friends after a long day. Service was quick and friendly, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality.
So glad to have found a place in the Bay Area that does real Chinese BBQ — this is definitely my new go-to. Highly recommend!
The restaurant is modestly sized, with seating for around 30. The decor is interesting, with soft purple lighting on one side of the restaurant.
The main food is barbecued skewers. The restaurant has an online menu, where all the ordering is done. We got a total of 15 skewers, with beef, chicken, lamb, fried bread, and a few veggies.
While all the food was good, it was fairly one-dimensional, with each skewer tasting nearly the same as each other. The same spice blend was used for all the skewers we got.
The blend itself was nice – fragrant, a little spicy, and salty. However, it didn’t seem to be evenly placed, and some places were more salty than others.
Overall, it’s not bad, but definitely get some of the teriyaki or other foods to balance out the one-dimensional note of the skewers.
