What made it even more frustrating was the explanation we were given. The server told us that if we wanted to grill the meat ourselves, we needed to let them know ahead of time and they would bring a portable grill/booth out for us. But that makes no sense, especially when there is already a built-in grill on the table. And why should customers have to figure this out on their own? This is something the server should explain as soon as diners are seated, not something we should discover after the dishes are cooked.
On top of all that, the food just didn’t taste as good as it used to. The flavors were dull, the quality felt lower, and nothing matched the experiences I had in the past. And even though it wasn’t a busy night, not a single server stopped by to check in on us or ask how everything was.
Overall, this visit was a huge letdown compared to my previous ones, not sure I’ll be returning again.
A hidden gem in Philly. It’s on the outskirts and the exterior definitely is not the most attractive. However, I am glad that a friend was able to take me to this location.
One thing we ordered was the seafood pancake. The seafood pancake was very crispy and had a ton of seafood packed into it. It was not too thick – some other places have a thicker seafood pancake which means that the inside might be a little soft or soggy. I think this is one of the best seafood pancakes that I have ever had.
Aside from the seafood pancake, we ordered a ton of food ranging from sliced pork to beef. They do the cooking for you and even though some of the staff don’t speak English, they were very attentive and hospitable.
Really recommend this place in terms of the quality of the product – the meat was very fresh and all of the food was made to order.
