This was hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Louisville. The Creole cooking here is absolutely incredible honestly some of the best food I’ve had in a long time.
We each ordered something different and shared bites, and every single dish was an explosion of flavor I wasn’t even prepared for. It’s rare to find a place where everything hits, but this was one of those spots.
If you’ve been thinking about trying it or haven’t heard of it yet go. Seriously. The online menu and reviews don’t even begin to do it justice.
On top of that, the staff went above and beyond. When they found out it was my birthday, they made the experience feel really special, which just took everything to the next level. The service, the food, and the atmosphere were all a 10/10.
I truly can’t recommend this place enough do yourself a favor and go try it.

Came in for a Christmas Eve Dinner with my family & we had a really wonderful time. The atmosphere is warm, local and inviting. The Food there was next level! They have a really Creative, colorful & unique variety dishes. Loved it. The scallops, steak frites & duck nuggets were so delicious and we’re totally looking forward to coming back to try other menu items! Highly recommend whether you’re local or visiting the area, the staff there made us right at home.

Absolutely incredible experience! This restaurant is exactly what our city needed. The food was truly to DIE for, every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The cocktails were outstanding, balanced perfectly and crafted with so much creativity.

An exceptional Southern dining experience. Had the catfish shrimp and grits special and was in heaven. The cocktails were high quality with unique flavor profiles. A true Louisville gem. Worthy of a Michelin when they come around here. Will be back

Murray’s is an amazing local addition to the highlands area. My girlfriend and I went during the opening week and we enjoyed it immensely. The upstairs is not open yet (apparently they are planning a more formal upscale space there) but downstairs is a great vibe. Smaller space with about 8 seats at the bar and about 30-40 seats downstairs. We started off with drinks (really fun cocktail menu with lots of local smaller batch liquor companies featured) and a complimentary bowl of popcorn as a little bar snack while waiting for our table! For appetizers we did the baked oysters (a little pricy but large and yummy) and then we ordered the tikka masala and Chana masala with the buttered cabbage as a side. All was delicious but I personally loved the brightness of the Chana masala! Tikka had some kick to it so if you like spice – go for it. Wished that we had gotten dessert but we were just too full. Will be back for more!
Note for my gluten free friends – they do have gluten free options annotated on the menu but they do not have a dedicated fryer – so stick with the curry’s, salads, and buttered cabbage if you are celiac or sensitive to cross contact. Our server Marquelle was great about communicating with the kitchen and the chef about this!

So I really wanted to like this place more, but it was a bit underwhelming.
The dinner menu seems a bit limited, the night I went, a few of the items on menu were sold out so I had to get the usual safe option which was the steak.
This place has the most expensive ribeye in the louisville. Almost 50% more expensive than steak houses like repeal and Jeff Ruby’s. And for $120 the 14oz steak was pretty underwhelming. The glaze was good, but the quality of the meat was not worth the price. It was a $50 quality steak…the bacon filet was much better than the ribeye though, so if you want to get a steak, get that and it is $40 cheaper than the ribeye. The Mac and cheese was great, chips were amazing!
I might come back to this place to try the other items that were sold out, I hope my next visit isn’t as disappointing as the first one (from a price point)…the service was great and the bartenders were nice enough to remake a drink i didn’t like.

Amazing! Food was incredible, the drinks were outstanding, and the service was on-point. It feels like you’re teleported to a different city with its own culture. And what a perfect location!
We sat in the nook while our table was prepared and watched the world on Bardstown Road hurry by.
Cocktails and apps were delicious! The creole coffee was fun and warm on a chilly night.
A new favorite spot for us, and jaw-dropping to see what they’ve done with the place since it was whatever it was before! Congrats to the chef and the team at executing this new creole inspired pub on Bardstown Road in Louisville, KY!

A fairly new restaurant to Louisville, we were skeptical but hopeful that it would be good enough for our Valentine’s date. The only available time was 3PM (which was fine because we figured we’d avoid the big crowd). We were promptly greeted by multiple staffers. The ambiance is great, the decor makes you feel like you’re in New Orleans and the music was fun to listen to. We were given menus by a very lovely and kind waitress but were surprised to see it was still the brunch menu. I will say, out of my whole review, this will be my only complaint. This was never explained during the booking. It would have been nice to have some clarity, especially because every single couple who arrived for their 3 PM reservation also asked to see the dinner menu, which was not available. One couple even left (their loss though, the food was still delicious.) I say, either close until 5 PM or have the dinner menu available at 3 PM. Most people aren’t looking for brunch at 3 PM.
However, we decided to stay and try it out either way because a couple of the menu items could be considered lunch/dinner. I asked the waitress for her recommendation between the jambalaya and the catfish and grits. She talked highly of both of them so my partner and I ordered them both. We are so happy we did because they were both scrumptious! My boyfriend said it was one of the best catfish he has ever had. With that said, we will be back to try the dinner menu because we took a peek and it all sounded delicious. And kudos to the waitress for frequently checking up on us and always wearing a warm, welcoming smile!

Most disappointing bowl of “gumbo” I ever had. I’ve had Creole and Cajun style gumbos in New Orleans and other parts of Louisiana, I’ve had gumbos from one end of the country to the other, and Murray’s should be ashamed to even call this gumbo. It was basically just a bowl of underflavored broth with a gobbet of turkey meat. And ya don’t serve the potato salad *in* the bowl, it goes on tbe side so as to not make a greasy adulterated mess of the gumbo, and the gumbo is *still served with rice*. Chef musta been out today and the “gumbo” made by someone who doesn’t know what it is, how to properly make it, or how it’s served. $25 for that is a disgraceful ripoff.
The overall ambiance is charming though.
However, the food was so disappointing, and nothing especially Creole about the menu, that I’m not sure I’ll be back. And I was so looking forward to having a good Creole restaurant here in Louisville. They really squandered the opportunity.
