– This is my favorite steakhouse in the cities. Originally, we were deciding between Murray’s vs. Manny’s (we heard both are really good steakhouses), but we ended up going with Murray’s this time because we heard the sides were amazing and a must try. We got the silver butter knife steak for two as well as thai chili brussels sprouts and and mac n cheese. These were all dishes and sides that were recommended to us by friends, and I highly recommend them. The steak for two included a choice of soup or salad. We got the lobster bisque (it was the soup of the day). Everything tasted really good. I liked the brussells sprouts more than the mac n cheese; the mac n cheese was a bit more thick than I expected but still really good. Our steak was cut in front of us, but the presentation of the steak after our waiter cut isn’t as good as other steak presentations. It all ended up in our stomaches though! Definitely recommend!

I recently hosted a private event at Murray’s for a group of industry leaders in the AI and cybersecurity space, and the experience was top-tier from start to finish. When you have that much “brain power” in one room, you need an environment that is professional yet comfortable, and Murray’s delivered perfectly.

The Service: The staff here truly understands high-level hospitality. I’m a sweet tea drinker, and since it wasn’t on the menu, our server went out of her way to hand-make some for me using simple syrup. It’s those small, proactive gestures that separate a good restaurant from a great one. The service for our entire group was seamless and never felt intrusive during our discussions.

The Food: The meal was outstanding. When you’re hosting a hosted event, consistency is key, and every steak was cooked to perfection. You can tell they take immense pride in their quality of cuts and preparation.

The Atmosphere: The private room provided the perfect backdrop for deep-dive technical conversations. It felt exclusive and quiet enough for our guests from major tech companies to network and share insights without the noise of a main dining room.

If you are looking to host a high-stakes corporate dinner or a private event in Minneapolis, Murray’s is a definitive go-to. Old-school service meets modern excellence.

Murray’s is an institution and when it comes to matters of service and ambience it is an excellent steak house in the heart of Minneapolis. The pacing of the meal is great, the staff is well trained and the decor is delightful. We ordered the bbq shrimp appetizer, a special of steak cuts for two containing filet, sirloin, and ribeye, as a side the Brussel sprouts. The food was very good but perhaps a bit aggressive with seasoning (bbq and salt) which took away a little from the shrimp and steak cuts which were asking for a little more gentle treatment. The raspberry pie for dessert was delightful. The drinks were very well done (Elderflower martini). Overall it’s a very fun place, good food, but for the price there are several restaurants I would consider a little bit more refined. I’m glad we went once, I don’t know that we will end up going back though.

Staying in the hotel next door and decided to try it. Murrays was highly recommended to us by several local people. It did not disappoint. Everything was delicious. The service was excellent. Oscar constantly checked on us and he wasn’t even our waiter. We ordered the carb cakes and the Silver Butternife steak (comes with one side and your choice of salad and soup for two). It was tender and absolutely delicious. The meal is more like for four people than two, so easy on the bread basket if you can resist. The dessert was refreshing. Made us feel like we were eating something healthy.

I visited Murray’s for the first time over the weekend. My friend and decided to have dinner at the bar. Before we were even asked what we wanted for a beverage we were immediately asked to get a card out to start a tab. – No greeting, no waters yet. Although, I definitely understand the reasoning for having a card on file. The bartender was extremely cold and off putting. I felt the entire time she was bothered with any encounter we had. The whole eye cutting and eye rolling was extremely rude. So we kept the ordering to a minimum so my friend and I could enjoy our dinner. We ordered a few apps and cocktails. We both decided to each get the ribeye . The food was a 10/10. No complaints there . I understand people have their off days while working in the service industry especially around this time of year. I’ve definitely have had my days. I almost felt as though we weren’t welcome . I am by no means a needy customer when it comes to dining out. But for spending $400 on a nice dinner I hold the person serving me up to a certain standard. She was not warm or welcoming by any means. The only time she was decent was when she overheard me say how uncomfortable she made me . That’s the only time she put on a fake smile when she brought the bill over. Which is my reasoning for the 3/5 stars. Again, the food was phenomenal!! I will definitely try it out again in the future. The entire hospitality experience was unfortunately lacking.

We decided to give Murray’s another try after receiving a gift card following a less-than-perfect experience we had when dining with our kids—and I’m so glad we did. This time it was just the two of us, and everything was exceptional from start to finish.

Our server, Denise, was absolutely fantastic—attentive, personable, and professional—but it wasn’t just him. The entire team worked seamlessly together. The support staff who cleared plates, refilled waters, and packed leftovers were equally on point. One even noticed when I opened my steak (a little more cooked than rare) and came right over to check on it before I even had to flag anyone down. You could really feel the teamwork and pride in service.

The food was outstanding as always. We tried the beef carpaccio for the first time, and it blew me away—honestly better than Manny’s version. The Szechuan green beans were perfectly cooked and seasoned, and my filet was spot-on rare, exactly how I like it.

All in all, this visit completely restored our love for Murray’s. We’re looking forward to coming back again—this time with our kids, who love steak just as much as we do.

Fun and friendly atmosphere in downtown Minneapolis. Great happy hour menu that is very shareable. Lots of steak items on the menu. A friend and I split the steak sandwich which was literally pieces of tender steak cooked how you like with cheese on sourdough. We ordered a side salad to complement the crispy fries that came with the sandwich. Lots of cocktails and draft beer on the menu, too. I had the Guinness draft and my friends had the side car and martini. Our server, Jeff, was personable and made excellent suggestions including their famous raspberry pie. They brought us plates to split it three ways. Piles of raspberry made for a pleasantly tart and slightly sweet pie. Perfect end to our meal.

I visited here for the first time yesterday evening. Many people and food publications say this is the place to for a steak dinner in Minnesota and Murray’s definitely lives up to the hype! Paige was my server and she was very professional and friendly. All the food was fabulous and I left there stuffed! Thanks for a great meal Murray’s!

My wife and I’s annual tradition to go here for Christmas. The silver butter knife streak is one of the most succulent cuts of meat you’ll have. The lobster was absolutely amazing. No bad things to say about this place. Customer service is over the moon! Will be back.
