Had the pleasure to visit this little spot in St. Joseph, MO. The service was great, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the food was delicious! I just loved the corn bread that they brought out with a tasty butter glaze on top. I had the pulled pork sandwich, and the quality/quantity of meat that was place on the bread was VERY generous. Can’t wait to come back!

Visited today from Indiana. Murphy’s Smokin Meats is excellent BBQ and a true hidden gem. The brisket is tender and deeply smoky, ribs fall off the bone, pulled pork is juicy and flavorful everything tastes fresh.
My thoughts because ive been to both. Its better than Arthur Bryant’s and Jack Stack in my opinion. Generous portions, fair prices, friendly service, and no crowds.
If you’re near KC or St. Joseph, go it’s the best-kept secret for real-deal barbecue. 5 stars!

Wow, found this hidden gem online. Soon as we walked in the door we were greeted. The waitresses go above and beyond. You’re treated like family. You’re served cornbread with honey on it and omg, talk about the best we’ve ever had!! Everything was great, we’re looking for a catering service for our wedding and they are definitely at the top of our list! They are only open weekends! You won’t be disappointed eating here it’s so good!

O, man! Great food! The menu is different from any other bbq place we’ve been to. It’s like going to your neighbor’s house that is amazing with a grill. Be sure you get a combo of meats so you can try everything. The bartender is your best friend, the wait staff are your friends. Just go!

place is the best, you can only tell people what is best for you. Service however, can be measured no matter where you’re at and Murphy’s is top notch! Haven’t had everything from there but the Reuben is amazing and they make quite possibly the best lime margarita I have ever had!

Discovered this little gem for smoked meats. Small but did a lot of carry out. I had the brisket sandwich, sliced brisket and I had it with fries. Came with a small loaf of delicious cornbread topped with honey butter. I are it as my desert. Service was great, very friendly. Prices were fair. Definitely on my list to stop in next time I am in town.

This little out of the way, bbq joint ROCKS! Service was outstanding. The young waitress was working herself to exhaustion, keeping up with the packed house. She still kept a pleasant smile and great attitude.
The BBQ was top-notch, served with corn bread that was sweet and savory. I recommend the burnt ends! I like that they do not get skimpy on the sides, serving out a comparatively large bowl. It was more than enough for my wife and I.

Wow! What a gem deep in the heart of St. Joseph! The food is consistently of.high quality. This is the type of BBQ a Texan loves because it needs no sauce to cover mistakes. Sauce is great but man nothing beats quality smoked and season BBQ. I personally think this IS The Best BBQ I have had in decades.

Wow. Stopped in here on a whim and it was fantastic. Everything was great, and the staff were lovely.
They give you cornbread with some typa drizzle on it and the beginning which was probably my favorite item. They also had three types of BBQ sauces, all of which were good. Def will come back if I’m ever in St Jo again.
