Reviews
We’ve been here a few times but haven’t left any reviews. I was surprised how packed it was on a mid-day Wednesday! I love the selection of small meals they have. We ended up deciding on the fish & chips and wings. Both were delicious and recommended!
We arrived and found a table inside that could accommodate 5 of us but the table was not cleared. No one acknowledged us standing the table (it was seat yourself) until 5:20pm. But the acknowledgement was only that “someone will be over soon”.
At 5:30 I bussed the table myself and a kind employee acknowledged that I shouldn’t have to do that.
At 5:45 I asked a passing server if the kitchen was as backed up as the front of the house and she informed me it was indeed backed up. Asked because we were willing to continue to wait for the meals as long as could get started with drinks.
By 5:50 we still hadn’t seen a server or had anyone check with us, etc.
We left at 6pm to find service and food elsewhere. I did return to Murphys after our meal at the other restaurant and was able to buy a pint of the chocolate whisky dessert to take home.
I’ve been to MLIP once before many years ago and while it was very crowded, we received service and had a great meal.
This visit was different and it didn’t work out for us.
Be aware that it can be very crowded and may be understaffed at times.
We tried the Pretzels and Cheese appetizer, Murphy’s Reuben, Shepherd’s Pie and Bread Pudding. Everything was amazing but I recommend the Shepherd’s Pie most of these options. The gravy was delicious.
We were able to find seating easily on a Friday at 5 PM and service was very good – our drinks stayed topped off and check-ins were well timed.
The atmosphere was great – sitting farther into the restaurant the music isn’t as loud as right at the entrance and it overall had a solid pub feel.
Looking forward to bringing friends next time!
