Murphys Craft House was super disappointing. Hadn’t been in years and used to be great. What happened? The place was dark and dingy. Staff was not enjoying her job. Lunchtime on Saturday was dead. The burger was not even 1/2” thick. More like child’s burger. They brought an extra plate so we could share and charged $2 fee. I could see if they separated it for us…maybe? Fries were scarce. My friend got literally 5 waffle fries with his meal and he ordered an entree. The food was average. We were celebrating his birthday and mentioned it and no offer to see a dessert menu. We had already gathered they would not be bringing a complementary birthday dessert. The whole experience was a 1st world problem but a bummer for a birthday celebration. There are so many other great places we could have gone but it wasn’t Murphys Craft House. It reminded me of a place Gordon Ramsey would show up, turn upside down and bring back to life.

Moved to Indy in December and thought I found my new place. Its close to the house. Went three times with each being a disappointment. First time we sat in the dining area, all three of us we felt the dinner could have been a frozen TV dinner warmed in a microwave.

Second visit was at the bar. The bartender (younger lady) could have cared less I was there. I had to wave to get her attention to order each drink and food. The second bartender (older lady) was spot on.

Third visit was a disaster. Took forever to order, drinks and food was late and to top it off the celery provided with the wings was close to rotten. Celery is cheap, it shouldn’t look like this guys.

I tip heavy but don’t expect special treatment. This place makes it hard to tip at all. It wouldn’t take much to improve.

Murphy’s Craft House at Fox Road: A Fried Food Lover’s Paradise (Even on-the-go)!_

This is my updated review about Murphy’s Craft House at Fox Road, and I’m obsessed! This place is a game-changer for anyone who loves fried food (so, basically everyone). We ordered carryout, and let me tell you, it was love at first bite!

Food: 5/5 (the holy trinity of fried food: mushrooms, chicken, and steak)

We ordered the deep-fried mushrooms, fried chicken, and steak, and oh boy, it was a fried food extravaganza! The mushrooms were crispy, golden, and addictive. The fried chicken was juicy, tender, and finger-lickin’ good. And the steak? Cooked to perfection and served with a side of garlic butter that’ll make your taste buds sing. It’s a fried food lover’s paradise, even on-the-go!

Service: 5/5 (friendly staff and easy pickup)

The staff at Murphy’s were super friendly and accommodating, even when we ordered carryout. They made sure our order was ready on time, and the pickup process was seamless.

_Overall Rating: 5/5 (we’ll be back, Murphy’s with our stretchy pants and a bigger appetite!)

Murphy’s Craft House at Fox Road is a must-visit for anyone who loves fried food, even if you’re on-the-go! With its incredible fried food options, friendly staff, and easy pickup, it’s the perfect spot to satisfy your fried food cravings. We’ll definitely be back!

Tips and Recommendations:

– Order the deep-fried mushrooms – trust us, you won’t regret it!
– Don’t forget to ask about daily specials and seasonal menu changes.
– Murphy’s has a great selection of craft beers, so consider pairing your meal with a cold one (if you’re 21+, of course)!
– Follow Murphy’s on social media to stay up-to-date on promotions, events, and new menu items!

This is one of my favorite restaurants, and we don’t get to come often because it’s out of the way, so it makes me really sad to write this review.

Our family of four ordered a kids’ meal, two burgers, and a cauliflower-crust pizza. After waiting for some time, our server came over and apologized—she had accidentally put in a regular-crust pizza instead of the cauliflower one, so it would be another 10–15 minutes. We told her this wasn’t a problem at all and that we didn’t mind waiting.

The rest of the food came out shortly after. When I went to eat my burger, I realized the bottom bun was rock-hard and completely black. We checked the other burger and it was fine, so we flagged down the hostess (possibly the manager), since our server was with other guests. We showed her the bun, I even tapped it to show how hard it was, and asked if it could be replaced. I also asked if, since we’d already had two issues, we could have a small amount of extra fries.

Our server came over just then, saw the bun, and asked whether I wanted a new burger or just the bun replaced. I said just a new bun was perfectly fine.

A minute later, the hostess brought out a tiny saucer with maybe 7–10 fries, each only about 1.5–2 inches long. My husband and I looked at each other, and he said it had to be a joke. He brought the plate to the hostess stand (she wasn’t there at the moment) and left it.

She came back to our table a minute later holding the same plate and asked if it wasn’t to our liking. We said it felt disrespectful to bring us what looked like leftover crumbs from the fry container. She replied, “Well, you asked for only a little extra fries, and that was all that was ready.” We explained that, given we’d already had issues with two out of our four dishes, it didn’t feel like a thoughtful response. A small gesture in situations like this is normal at most restaurants, and instead it felt like we were inconveniencing her by bringing up legitimate concerns. She had seemed annoyed from the moment we asked for help.

They did eventually bring a proper plate of fries, and we appreciated that, but the situation should have been handled differently from the start—especially by the hostess.

We saw a great band called Local Honey but didn’t have any food. What I saw looked amazing, but I did not partake.

Our party of 5 Sat for almost 30 mins before we got the attention of someone who looked like he worked there and we asked if he knew who our server was. Within a few mins he returned to let us know a server had a family emergency and that he would be taking care of us. His name was Matt and Matt took great care of us! Everyone was happy with their food, burgers looked great and my son’s tenderloin sandwich was amazing. But two of us got Fish and Chips and the menu gives no indication that the fish is really 5 or 6 little fish nuggets, which were buried under an overwhelming amount of curvy chips which were nicely seasoned and crisp. We just were not fans of the fish nugs. The coleslaw was pretty basic, I don’t know why restaurants can’t make a good coleslaw. Shredded cabbage and Marzetti’s dressing, that’s all you need.
I will say that the Halloween decorations were pretty impressive!!

Excellent sit down restaurant at the intersection of Fox Road and Oaklandon Road. The menu has a broad selection of sandwiches, steak, and salads and all are good choices. One person in our party got an apple salad topped with salmon, one got a taco salad and others got the tenderloin. The atmosphere is very nice and the service was very attentive. Pretty reasonably priced for the Geist area. Outdoor dining is also available and very nice. Full service bar as well if you’re looking for a hangout, too.

We typically go here for dinner 2-3 times a month. Wait staff is attentive and the pub house wings are good. I haven’t had anything from this menu that wasn’t good.

So we tried out Murphy’s Craft House and it was amazing. We got the fried goat cheese and while we were scarfing that down enjoyed delicious drinks, I got the long island and My wife enjoyed the Old Fashioned with Maker’s Mark and she loved it. Our food came out and we enjoyed it throughout the evening. Great food and drinks. The rib eye steak was delicious and the beet salad was super thanks to our server Doug for a wonderful night.

The food was great, the service was great, but not a place to go for a quiet meal. The bar crowd is always noisy for some reason. Have to sit out on the patio if you want quiet.
