We had a good experience at Murky Waters BBQ. Our service was excellent with Maleek (not sure how to spell his name). He was attentive, gave us Okra to try as I’ve never personally had it, nor knew what it was, and gave his best recommendations.
For bbq fans ourselves, it just fell a little short for us personally. We both ordered the 2 combo. We both agree that we wish they offered adding on a 3rd meat to try for a small additional charge. Pulled chicken was good, and the burnt ends were adequate although one piece was straight up fat completely and a bit too charred. We both really enjoyed the garlic Parmesan fries though from the appetizer list.
Limited parking on the street, but there is a lot nearby for parking.
We probably won’t return while we’re living down here unless we absolutely had the craving for more bbq. It’s a bit too overpriced for the quality. Especially when we’re used to delicious KC bbq. Also an additional $2.00 for a side salad that just has packed iceberg lettuce is a bit criminal.

If you are looking for genuine smoked brisket and smoked burnt ends like you would get in Texas, delete your expectations. Hands down most disappointing restaurant with BBQ in the name across the US I’ve had so far. We ordered a 2-meat plate with sides and a burnt ends sandwich. Nothing burnt, end or BBQ ‘d about it. Wasn’t even grilled or had BBQ sauce either. Wings, brisket and burnt ends, all a let down if you are a foodie. Service wasnt great, place wasnt super clean but can all be overlooked for delicious smoked taste. Not the case here. Will not be back to give it another shot this time.

Yum, so good, flavors were not spicy but lots of flavors and choices of bbq sauces would give everyone a flavor they like!!! Will definitely be back. Our waitress was so sweet, wasn’t sure what collard greens were so she brought me a sample to try and it turns out I like them! Had a great time can’t wait till next time❣️❣️❣️

I ordered the Murky ‘Mash Burger with a side of mac and cheese. The meal was hearty and decent overall, though I was expecting a bit more. The burger was fresh, but it could have used more seasoning, and the bun was a bit firm, almost as if it had been left out too long. The mac and cheese wasn’t quite to my taste, but I appreciated that they let me switch it out for fries instead. But I must say they do have some good drinks on there menu.

After living nearly a decade in Memphis, I didn’t expect to find BBQ that could rival it—until I tried Murky Waters BBQ in Ocean Springs. We’ve eaten there a couple times, authentic Southern BBQ that gives Memphis a run for its money. This time we had the BBQ nacho, wings, and the Cajun cubano!! OUTSTANDING!! Our food was delicious. My pulled chicken sandwich had the perfect smokey flavor. My boyfriend had wings with blazin asian and hot honey sauces. Both were amazing, but I would recommend trying the hot honey. Our waiter was very attentive. We did not have a long wait for our food and never had to wait for drink refills.

So this place started off great the waitress was nice and very attentive in the beginning, it got worse as we ordered. To start with they were out of ribs and burnt end tips which is wild because this is a bbq restaurant. Fine ok so when we made our order our appetizer didn’t come out till our food did and the waitress said she didn’t know we wanted them before our food she didn’t put it in that way. Ok so the food was cold, they didn’t cook the okra well done like we asked for and the food just wasn’t good for the price we paid. We had a party of 10 and tipped really well. We had 2 kids with us ages 3 and almost 5 well when my boyfriend went back in to pee apparently he overheard the waitress telling the owner our kids were being too loud because they were playing after eating! They’re kids and weren’t being too loud or roudy!! This really irked me after we were so humble about everything the food, then being out of items and etc. it was my bfs birthday so that’s where he wanted to eat, we even gave the waitress a piece of king cake!! So if you have kids, ones that like to play I wouldn’t recommend taking them here, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone anyway it’s not worth it!! I am very upset with how the turnout went!! I will not be going back!!

Last night, we had an event where the restaurant I had originally paid and scheduled canceled at the very last minute. On a chance, I contacted Murky Waters in Ocean Springs, and despite the short notice, their team stepped up in an incredible way.
Within about an hour, Christa had the food set up and ready to serve. The food was absolutely delicious — especially the brisket and wings. Beyond the great food, their professionalism, flexibility, and willingness to help during a stressful situation truly exceeded expectations.
I highly recommend Murky Waters OS, not only for their fantastic food but for their outstanding service and reliability. Keep up the great work!
