The name pretty much says it all: home-style cooking made with love. We tried a variety of things, including the daily special, which was fantastic. Quick, friendly service and a very clean atmosphere. Small restaurant with no indoor seating, but a few tables on the deck. If you prefer spicy food, you’ll want to bring your hot sauce.

After spending the week eating mediocre food in this town, Murfs was a really pleasant surprise. The food was decently priced, especially taking into account the portion sizes, and everything we tried was sooooo good. We had the baked chicken with Brussels sprouts and grits, even my children liked the Brussels. My girls had the chicken pot pie, and the chicken tot pie. Portions were too much for them to eat in one sitting, and they’ve already said they can’t wait to eat their leftovers ! My last child had the nuggets. I was expecting a “normal” nugget kids meal, but there were about 10 lightly breaded real chicken nuggets with her side! Real food! The pies and brownies were also delicious!

The food and customer service at Murf’s are both excellent. We ordered for the holidays since we weren’t hosting a big event, and the 2–4 person portions were priced really well. Everything was delicious, well packaged, and came with clear instructions. The staff was friendly and helpful and even double-checked that we had everything we needed. It was such a relief to have home-cooked food without the stress. We were 100% satisfied and will definitely order again.

I was born and raised in the south. I’ve only been to this take out once and all I ordered was fried chicken livers and fried okra. I was sadly disappointed. They both tasted like they had been premade and frozen and then deep fried. The okra had barely any batter with no flavoring and the okra inside had no taste. The chicken livers were dried up and crunchy. I will not be back if I can find something better.
I found better pre-battered okra at Winn-Dixie that I air fried that tasted better than their okra. The so-called biscuit was a waste of space in the bag. No flavor tasteless gluey pre-made whatever.
The customer service was awesome. The wife of the chef helped me to my car because I am handicapped.

Murf’s Homestyle Togo is my new favorite for good home cooking; it’s just like Mom would make. The service was quick and friendly; the portions were HUGE for the price, and the food was just plain good. I had the Homemade Mac ‘n Cheese, the Black Eyed Peas and rice, and the Tot Chick: tater tots loaded down with chicken tenders, onion gravy and cheese. Outstanding! I’ll be back!
Update: I’ve eaten here several times, and EVERY TIME the food has been good, down home cooking. The service is great; today I had the Chicken Murphy. SO GOOD! Seriously, this is your go-to place for lunch and dinner for good home cooking!
