I had the 1 piece fish and chips from Murdock Food Truck, and I can honestly say it was one of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Whatever seasoning was on the fries was delicious and I’d love to know what it was. The fish was fried to perfection and was full of flavor. If you have the opportunity to try it, you must!

Last week they had a double smash burgers with fries on for $10, so I decided to take advantage. From the picture you can see the patties are quite large compared to the bun. They were thin with a good crisp to them. There was smash sauce, lettuce and cheese on it. I asked if they could add pickles. It was so good and the fries were some of the best I’ve had. The seasoning was a perfect amount.

I had the Mushroom Swiss Smash Burger and poutine from this food truck, and it was unbelievably good. The burger was everything a smash burger should be, juicy, perfectly seared with those crispy edges, and absolutely packed with flavor. The melted Swiss and sautéed mushrooms added a rich, savory bite, and the pepper mayo tied it all together perfectly.
The poutine was just as impressive, with a generous amount of flavorful gravy and plenty of cheese curds that melted beautifully into the fries.
Altogether, this was one of the best food truck meals I’ve ever had, comfort food done right with quality and care. The service was friendly, the food came out quickly (only about a 7–8 minute wait even with a few orders ahead), and the value was excellent. The burger with poutine came to just $20, which felt like a steal for the quality.
I highly recommend this spot if you’re looking to try a truly great smash burger and some seriously satisfying poutine.

Went here on a Saturday around 430 which was great because I think I beat the dinner rush. The service was fast and friendly. I ordered the last of his fish and chips for the others I was picking up for, so I ended up going with the smash burger for myself. The owner was so kind as to give me his last small piece of fish to try. It was flaky and crispy and a nice light batter. I got the Smash Burger Deluxe. Loved the mac style burger sauce and those fresh cut fries were so good. Loved the seasoning on them. Portions were big. Burger was delish. Nicely seasoned and not too salty as I find smash burgers often are. I thought the prices were decent. Slightly less than some other take out burger shops. Will definitely try them again! Glad to see them in my neighbourhood.

Got the double smash and fries today, and wow it was good.
The burger was awesome – perfectly smashed and the bun was soft and fresh. The fries were also so good! They were fried nicely crisp, but not overfried or crazy greasy when they hit the container.
I’m definitely going to visit again and try some of the other stuff on the menu… That poutine looked deadly!

Super lovely people but the fish and chips just wasn’t to my taste: great portion size but the fries were heavily seasoned with quite a sweet flavour, and i ended up leaving most of it.
For some, that seasoning will be a huge win but especially with fish it just wasn’t for me.

I’ve visited Murdock’s twice. Food is outstanding, fresh, and the meat is local. I tried the double smash burger deluxe and the steak poutine. Give both 10/10.

I wanted to try something new in HRM and heard good things about this place, ordered their bbq chicken poutine and I have to say it was hands down the tastiest poutine I’ve ever had. Good portion size, great quality, fast service. Will definitely be returning to try the rest of their menu! I asked about the bbq sauce on the poutine because it was so delicious, the owner makes the bbq sauce himself! Highly recommend. Check it out
