What really makes Murano’s stand out, though, is the people. Katie and Christy are usually there when I come in to pick up our pizza, and they are both genuinely so so wonderful. They’re always kind, welcoming, and thoughtful, and they make every pickup feel like more than just a quick stop for food. Their friendliness and great attitudes really reflect how much care goes into this place. Murano’s would not be the same without them!!
Great food is one thing, but great people make a place special, and Murano’s clearly has both. We’re so grateful to have such a fantastic local spot and will absolutely keep coming back for our weekly pizza!
My husband was craving a burger, so we strayed from our usual order: he got a bacon cheeseburger and fries, I got a chicken Caesar salad, and my son got a cheese quesadilla. The restaurant even called to verify how my husband wanted his burger prepared (bacon, cheese, ketchup, mayo, and mustard only).
My husband’s burger arrived with lettuce and pickles on it — which he obviously specifically stated he didn’t want. The bacon on his burger was one whole slice of the worst tasting bacon he’s ever eaten. The texture was like rubber and it was inedible.
My Caesar salad was completely waterlogged. I mean, I guess I’m glad they wash their lettuce, but there was almost a quarter cup of water sitting in the bottom of the box. I didn’t realize this until after I put the dressing on and shook my salad around in the box. I tried to drain the water the best I could when I realized, but it was in vain – I couldn’t eat the salad. I ate a piece of my son’s quesadilla, which was fine. It was for a 6 year old, and its pretty difficult to mess up a cheese quesadilla. I just picked around the burnt edges and carried on.
My husband called Muranos to complain – again, our first complaint in over 3 years. They said we needed to contact Slice (since that is the app you have to use to order online), but that they “would take care of it on their end.” So we contacted Slice. After waiting for a bit, Slice informed us that the restaurant wouldn’t authorize a refund. Why we had to contact Slice when they were just going to call the restaurant is beyond me. So my husband called back to Muranos. He was told that the owner wouldn’t authorize a refund since it “wasn’t a quality issue.” I fail to see how inedible food “isn’t a quality issue,” but they have just lost incredibly loyal customers. As previously mentioned, we order from Muranos at least once a week for the past 3.5 years, and usually spend around $50 per order. You do the math – that’s close to $8k that we have spent at this restaurant. But never again.
Congratulations to the owner – you’ve lost loyal customers, and we will be sure to tell others. All over a $44 refund.
Their Greek Salad with grilled chicken and their Chicken Caesar Salad are great. The chicken is marinated, seasoned, and grilled, making it savory and juicy.
Their traditional bone-in Buffalo Wings are excellent. The largest wings I’ve had so far.
Their Strombolis and Calzones are great. Stuffed with your choice of options and baked golden brown. And a large is large. I can eat two to three meals from each.
Update 23Jun2024: If I get a stromboli from here, it is usually the Steak Special Stromboli. But today, I tried the New York Stromboli with ham, pepperoni, cheese, and other stuff with oregano and other spices on the crust. I can mumble, “WOW!” and “YUM!” But I can’t say anymore because my mouth is full.
Last week I ordered and what I got was not the same portion as when I ate inside.
I asked for the sauce to be put on the side for the sub and when I got home there was no sauce.
So I guess in conclusion.
If you have to take out, check your iorder before you leave the store
If possible I would suggest eating in.
The food is great either way.
