Great food, really good prices. Staff and the owner that are as there were extremely helpful. I’ve already told two groups of friends about Munchies Live BBQ.
So far my favorite lunch is the jerk chicken served with black beans & Cilantro saffron rice.
Very nice music playing too. Light jazz piano.

If you haven’t been to Munchies Live BBQ yet, stop what you’re doing and go, the chopped chicken is INSANELY good. Like, shockingly good. Perfectly smoked, juicy, and full of flavor on its own, but when you hit it with any of their sauces, it’s next level.

Every single sauce is a win, but that jerk vinegar sauce is straight-up addictive, tangy, spicy, and just the right amount of kick. It ties everything together and makes you wonder why every BBQ joint doesn’t serve it.

Friendly crew, great portions, and food that tastes like someone actually cares about what’s coming off the pit. Hands down one of the best BBQ spots in Central Florida.

First time in Tavares and saw this bbq stand/restaurant near the hotel and tried it for lunch. Oh my! Brisket sandwich is homerun. Cuban sandwich is so good. Laid back, super friendly, one of the owners working the bbq grill outside by the outdoor tables. Lake view. What a fun find!

My food experience was great! The food was fresh, delicious, and truly homemade. I had a BBQ sandwich platter and my guest had a fish platter (flounder). The service was excellent – true patience shown to explain the menu and ingredients. Plus, the seating area was calm, relaxing, and so cozy. If you want good food and a great overall experience, choose Munchies Live BBQ!

Beware of the dry rub seasoning, highly addictive and delicious!! Now I put it on everything, even my icecream! Their seasoning shaker stays at the dinner table next to the salt and pepper. Pulled pork is out of this world!! Don’t buy one seasoning shaker, buy 4 like I did, maybe more! You’ll regret running out!

Found this gem when searching for a wedding venue about a month ago. Our second visit was just as great as the first. Very nice and cozy vibe. Outside games for the kids and a fire pit. Food was amazing. We drive an hour and 20 minutes for this BBQ. By far THE BEST bbq we’ve ever had. The owner is nice and the staff is very friendly. We will be back with family and friends for the nighttime vibe. Oh, and the prices are very generous. Thank you and we will see you soon!

I came across this place on Facebook and saw the good reviews and was really excited to try it tonight. I will say the staff working was 100% amazing and super nice, so this has nothing to do with their attitudes. I honestly debated on bringing the food back after the first bite, the brisket was so bad. Closer to jerky than juicy brisket. The worst I’ve ever had. As my husband said, “this brisket needs CPR, I’d be embarrassed to serve this.” And the sides were very small. I only ate 3 fries before I took this photo. Maybe their other meats are better, but for $44 for 2 for meat this hard to eat, we probably won’t be back

Very good bbq. 5 minute walk from seaplane parking at Lake Dora. Brisket sandwich was excellent, Mac n cheese passed the test. Try the thick and sweet sauce. A few bucks shy of $30 for brisket sandwich, 2 sides and sauce. Good value by BBQ standards.

Service was excellent and quick. The meat felt fresh. Indoor and outdoor seating available on premises along with some outdoor games, though I ate at the dock.

I will be returning in the future. Great splash in lunch spot.

I very very rarely leave reviews, but this review is worth the time and effort. I can’t say enough about how absolutely amazing the food is. I even drive 1 hr one way just to go get food from this place! The meat is so tender and so flavorful, ( I’m a drown everything in sauce person, but the brisket is so delicious I don’t even need any sauces to put on it) The brisket is perfection, hands down best I have ever had, and I am a foodie and travel all over to try out new places to eat. Even the sides, potatoe salad, Mac and cheese, collard greens, bbq beans delicious. Both locations Mt Dora and Tavares have welcoming atmospheres, I highly recommend this place. BBQ G.O.A.T , boss man knows what he is doing!
Service is great and friendly.
Tavares location offers the Lion’s Den, a unique private room for larger party reservations.
