One of the best dining experiences in Canmore!
We stopped by Mumbai Local for lunch, and everything about this place blew us away — the ambience, the service, and especially the food! The restaurant has a warm, inviting vibe with friendly staff who really care about the details.
We ordered Dahi Puri, Soya Chaap, and Triple Schezwan Fried Rice — every single dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. They adjusted the spice level exactly how we asked, which made the meal even better. The Soya Chaap was honestly the best I’ve ever had — perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of authentic flavor.
It’s so rare to find Indian food this good in the Rockies. Whether you’re a local or visiting Canmore, this spot is an absolute must-try. You’ll walk out happy, full, and already planning your next visit!

experience at Mumbai Local Indian Cuisine in Canmore. The service was friendly and attentive, making the visit even more enjoyable. The food was outstanding — the Zafrani Chicken Tikka (Boneless) was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The Malvani Chicken Curry instantly took me back to the coastal taste of Malvan, Maharashtra — rich, aromatic, and truly authentic. The breads were soft and complemented the curries beautifully. Highly recommended for anyone craving genuine Indian flavors in the Rockies ️

I tried Chicken Tandoori Biryani, Mumbai-style Tawa, and Veg Pulao and the food was really good. The biryani was flavorful with well-cooked chicken, the Mumbai-style Tawa had authentic street-style taste, and the veg pulao was light and fragrant.
One thing to note is that it gets very busy between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM. We visited during rush hour and waited about one hour for our food. That said, the taste made it worth the wait. Definitely a good place to try if you enjoy authentic Indian flavors.

We recently visited Mumbai Local Indian Cuisine in Canmore. The service was absolutely excellent the staff was very courteous and attentive, definitely a 5/5 experience on that front. The food was decent with authentic flavors, I would rate it around 3/5.
However, the ambiance could really use improvement. We were seated at a very small table for four, and the patio area at night had no functioning lights, which made it quite uncomfortable. Additionally, there were a lot of mosquitoes, which made dining outdoors challenging.
Overall, great service and okay food, but I hope they work on the ambiance and comfort for guests, as that would really elevate the experience.

100% recommended! The food was delicious, the service was very quick, the waiters were attentive and kind, the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. The perfect place to unwind with a warm dish and finish a day of being active outdoors.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Mumbai Local Canmore last night! We were visiting from Vancouver and stopped in for dinner to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. Since we arrived late and didn’t have time to get a cake, I reached out to see if they could do something special — and Pranav went above and beyond!

It was my first time trying the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Malvani Prawn Curry, and both dishes were a wonderful surprise. The chicken was tender, served in a creamy, spiced tomato sauce that was truly enjoyable. The prawn curry, made with a coconut base and bold Malvani spices, had a spicy and slightly tangy flavor that I really loved.
