The food was good. The restaurant location is very close to my workplace. The owner was very welcoming even though at that time the restaurant was being cleaned, but he just asked us to come in and have a look the menu and ordered. We purposely came earlier to avoid lunch time. We arrived around 11.30. The spring roll was good. Pad see eew was tasty too. Pork dumpling was a home made recommended by the owner and was good too

Absolutely amazing food! The Pad See Ew was hands down one of the best I’ve ever had perfectly cooked noodles, rich smoky flavor, and just the right balance of sweetness and saltiness. The texture was spot on and every bite was delicious.
The Crispy Pork with Chinese Kale over Rice was equally impressive. The pork was incredibly crispy on the outside and tender inside, and the kale was fresh and flavorful. The sauce tied everything together beautifully and made it so satisfying.
Great taste, generous portions, and excellent quality. Highly recommend and will definitely come back again!

The jungle curry was ok and fresh but lacked quite a few things for $28. I make it myself sometimes and it’s a broth that needs love and care and depth bc it does not have coconut milk. Lemongrass, green little chilies and fingeroot (pounded) are the keys to this dish. It should blow your head off. Mum Mum put in carrots and zucchini but given the ingredients available at the Vic Market, this dish at least needs young green peppercorns, Thai eggplants, holy basil, red capsicum, long green beans and baby corn. The chicken was fine. This is a very special dish and there are few who can do it well. Rice Paddy Thai in South Yarra is very good.

On a business trip to Melbourne and this gem was just down the road. The business lives up to its name in that it appears to be run by a mother daughter team, and they serve up genuine Thai street food. I had pork dumplings with chilli sauce, jungle curry chicken & coconut rice and all were faultless. I’ll aim to return before my trip ends.

My absolute favourite dishes here are the crispy pork belly with Chinese broccoli, the soft-shell crab curry and the stir fry beef lemongrass. All tasty and all in decent portions.
For desserts, I love both the Fried Banana with Ice Cream and also the coconut dumplings with ice cream. You can nominate what flavour of ice cream you want to go with which desserts all yummy! We had the Vanilla and Mango ice cream. Both are yummy and paired well with their desserts
Always warm hospitality from the lovely owners We also love the modern touch to the interior.
Highly recommended for lovers of Thai food!

Pretty solid and yummy meal at Yum Yum. We got some prawn hargows (weren’t our favourite), another dumpling type thing with a delicious chilli jam, and a pad see ew. A pretty decent meal and relatively well priced, would probably come back again.

I have eaten at Mum Mum many times and their food and service is always consistently excellent.
Update: Still superb, and you’ve got to try their new stewed pork dish!! It’s so tender, delicious, with a lipsmackingly good sauce that is perfect over rice, plus there are veggies becoming flavorful under the pork so it is a balanced meal. Now our favourite dish here!!
My go-tos on the menu are always the soft shell crab, salt and pepper chicken ribs, crispy pork belly with Chinese broccoli and rice to soak up all the delicious gravy from the pork/kailan. But they have plenty of other delicious dishes too, I like the pad Thai alot, and their curries are good too, especially the green curry and jungle curry.
In fact, I love the soft shell crab so much that I would get it as pre-lockdown meal whenever a new lockdown was called in Melb (Mum Mum stayed closed during the lockdowns so I knew I needed to get my fix before they did).
Their salt and pepper chicken ribs stay crunchy even when cold (I’ve eaten it straight out of the fridge many times the next day) but also reheats beautifully.
I 100% recommend giving this family-run restaurant a go.
