Eat in your car or outdoors on one of the picnic tables and get a no-frills burger/fries/ice cream meal. In a way it’s like an old-timey, throwback example of what Culver’s is now, and unfortunately it doesn’t seem like it’s better quality or more affordable than Culver’s which makes it hard to justify going back to the next time we’re in the area. Our daughter said the burger was like a “school lunch burger” in terms of the quality and texture of the meat, and the fries were unsalted, so it’s hard to recommend this place unless you’re passing through and really intent on avoiding a chain.

The blended root beer float was unique and tasty, though, and the service was friendly and helpful.

We have been loyal customers at Mullins for years and always looked forward to stopping in. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was extremely disappointing. The quality of the food has noticeably declined. The burgers, which used to be fresh and flavorful, now taste like a mushy substitute rather than real hamburger meat. The onion rings and fries also seem to have changed and now taste more like lower-quality alternatives. While prices have gone up, I wouldn’t mind paying more if the food was still as good as it used to be. Sadly, that’s no longer the case. Mullins used to be one of our favorite spots for a good burger, but we can no longer recommend it and won’t be returning. It’s a real disappointment to see such a beloved place go downhill.

This place was reccomend to us and it was a cool place! There is no indoor seating but park benches in a nice grassy area.

Good selection of food and really good prices!

The chicken fingers were crispy. Fries were great. Ice cream was refreshing. Oh, root beer was good too!

I didn’t use them but the bathrooms really are clean (check out the sign).

We stopped to grab some easy food. We ordered chicken tenders and my husband ordered also french fries . Chicken tenders were ok taste. What extremely shock us, when we saw french fries. It cost 3$ but what we got was hardly to even call french fries. It was in mini paper bag size 3 inches and may be like only few very not tasty pieces of fries. I felt like it was the worst fries we ever had in our life for our money. I also ordered malt for 5$. It was in a small cup, sorry not what I expected for the money, plus taste of the malt was not good at all, warm even.
The server was wonderful girl and place had sign it was open in 1934. But I am sure nobody would serve such a poor food at that place in the past. We were very disappointed of poor quality of food.

I would really love to give this place 5 stars. We love going to family owned small ice cream places. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. First it’s a drive in only service. We thought by walking up we could just order at the counter. Instead you have to sit at a table and can only order thru a server so you have to tip. Then we waited 15 min for our ice cream cones and 1 shake. Double cones were ridiculously tiny, as was the shake also. Picture is of the $5 shake. Chocolate shake had the consistency of chocolate milk so I sent it back to have it remade. With how long we waited I’m assuming it was made earlier and melted??? Atmosphere is nice sitting outside but would never go back. It has a cute story that you can read on the menu. It is family owned. Mr. Mullin originally had bought an A&W franchise and turned it into a diner. Mr. Mullin died in 2018 and his daughter owns it now. Wish I could rate it higher. I love the story. Unfortunately we won’t be going back.

Burgers are mediocre at best. Service was slow and inattentive. Count your change, I was shorted $10. Didn’t figure that out until the little waitress left and put my change in my wallet.. Didn’t feel like trying to prove it to them. Atmosphere was perfect! Great afternoon for outdoor dining!

Spotted this cute little drive-in while out on a drive, & pulled right in with anticiptation. Our orders were taken right away, & then we waited… quite a bit. My husband got nervous after reading reviews, & we should have just left. My burger was tiny & just “okay”. The chili cheese fries? So bad. The chili was a dark, thick, unappetizing sludge. The sloppy joe was not as expected, & tasted most like watery barbecue sauce. Even the rootbeers were flat. We only ate about a bite out of each, so it was a complete loss & left us still hungry.

Worth the drive. Or if you’re lost and end up in Fox Lake, WI this is the place to stop for good food and maybe directions. We had the burgers and malts. All very tasty. Staff was knowledgeable when it came to the menu as well as friendly and efficient.

Everybody raves about this place. It’s cute because there are car hops, it’s an old fashioned hamburger and ice cream Drive in place. It was not my first time eating here, and, like before, I just don’t think the food is very good. I stopped for lunch recently, had a cheeseburger, a small order of fries and a root beer, with tip was $12. The service was good, it didn’t take long for the food to come out, but it doesn’t taste like anything… it’s still a fun and nostalgic experience.

Had to really wait for a car hop. I had been parked for about 5 minutes, Two other vehicles came in after me. They got to order ahead of me. Portions were really small, but the prices were very high. food was cold.
