Really enjoyed my visit here. The food and atmosphere were excellent! Only downside was the service. I know in this day and age we should be thankful for our wait staff because it’s hard to find good help. My waiter was pleasant and kind but she failed to ask how the food was after it was delivered. She did not offer to refill my drinks, I had to ask after my meal was already completed. It was relatively slow for I dined around 4:30. Other than that the restaurant is beautiful and the food was amazing.

While we enjoyed the experience, the food and service was somewhat disappointing. We ordered the Meatball appetizer and got two mediocre meatballs in a bland sauce. Not much flavor at all. My wife was happy with her Di Cognac meal of sausage and sauce over pasta shells, but my meal of Fish and Scallops over parm risotto was very disappointing. The two scallops were not seared and very small and the Mahi Mahi was overcooked and dry. The risotto was also not cooked well as the grains were somewhat hard. We each had a glass of red wine which was decent. It would also have been nice if they added a drizzle of balsamic in the garlic oil for the bread.

Great place to go! It was busy but that didn’t stop them from being efficient. Totally recommend, make reservations. Meal prices are reasonable. My only issue is they vould have better bottles of winw.

I had a Groupon for this place, & I had high hopes of it based on all the good reviews. For the premium prices, I expect premium food… We didn’t even get our drink order taken until 15 minutes after we sat down while another couple sat down next to us & got their drink order taken within less than one minute of them being seated. The shrimp appetizer was bland and had no flavor. The mahi mahi was so incredibly overcooked, & the blood orange “cream” sauce they used was not creamy what’s so ever. It was like a citrus demi glaze. Lastly, the server did not ask how our food was until about 5 minutes after we were done.

About six hours after we ate, both my partner and I woke up within 5 minutes of eat other & was in & out of the bathroom the whole night. The only thing we ate in common was the shrimp, but we both had seafood as our dinner. So, something was not cooked properly. Highly disappointed in this place.

We used their private room for our rehearsal dinner and the service was great. We arrived a little early but they got us into the space ahead of time.

We had about 25 people all ordering individually and from start to finish only took about 2 hours. Our server was efficient and friendly and on top of all the different requests that we had.

All of the food was delicious. We definitely will eat there again the next time we are in Northampton.

Absolutely outstanding food, service and atmosphere. We were seated quickly and in the corner with privacy. My husband and I recieved the best service from Jennifer. She was pleasant and knew the menu very well. The food can I say was amazing. The mozzarella appetizer is delicious. The garlic bread is perfect. We both ordered Alfredo. My husband got the crazy Alfredo and I had mine plain with chicken. Chefs kiss. We ended with dessert. We had the lemon cake with marscapone. Melt in your mouth! 5 stars all around. So impressed with Mulinos!

Edit. Just finished our fourth visit to Mulinos with Jennifer as our server and the food was again outstanding. I wanted to add a few photos and mention my husband has tried many seafood dishes and has loved them all. I am a creature of habit so I always get chicken Alfredo which is always consistently delicious. We have tried the meatball appetizer and the meatballs are tender and flavorful. Along with the lemon cake we have tried the chocolate torte and cream Brulee. All the desserts are made in house from scratch and all are so darn good!!! We are always welcomed back and the staff knows us by name. The prices are so reasonable for home made Italian cuisine. 20 to 35 for entrees. 10 for dessert and around 11 for appetizers! Belissimo

Mulino’s, an Italian restaurant located on Strong Avenue in Northampton, Massachusetts, offers classic Italian fare in a comfortable setting.

We arrived on a late Sunday afternoon shortly after 5, and were greeted and seated immediately. Moments later, John, our very personable server, came to our table to take our drink order (a Malbec and Sauvignon blanc). The wine menu was extensive and offered bottles or glasses from the United States, Italy, and other parts of the world. After bringing our wine selections he took our meal order.

Before our appetizer arrived, we were treated to two bread rolls with oil and garlic. The rolls came out hot and fresh, and were quite tasty. For starters, we opted for the garlic bread (optional mozzarella or gorgonzola cheese toppings are available, which in retrospect, we sadly chose to ignore). The appetizer consisted of two large slices of focaccia bread, brushed with garlic butter, and cut into triangles. The dough was light and crispy and overall delightful.

The Maryland Blue Crab ravioli were the evening’s special, and it was a very smart choice. The ravioli were large, and although I wouldn’t say they were stuffed with crab, there was still plenty inside. The pasta was covered in a zesty lemon cream sauce, with spinach and cherry tomatoes. The dish was phenomenal.

The Eggplant Parmigiana was another fine choice. Several thin slices of tender breaded eggplant resting on a bed of al dente spaghetti, and covered in a rich and savory house made tomato sauce.

Dessert was offered, which we declined, since the rolls, garlic bread and pasta more than satisfied our appetites.

My only complaint was that it took over an hour before we were served our entrees. However, on a positive note, we didn’t feel rushed and enjoyed our appetizer and a couple glasses of wine. Besides, the food was well worth the wait.

Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Since Mulino’s is on the second floor of a three story building, the balconies offer an elevated view of the street and appear to be a popular choice, one I wish I had made. Street parking is available, and a parking lot is also behind the restaurant (free on Sundays, but one must pay by app or kiosk the rest of the week before 8 p.m.).

Mulino’s is a must for those craving Italian fare. The restaurant is clean and very comfortable, the staff extremely polite, and the Italy-esque atmosphere – with traditional Italian music – is enveloping without being suffocating.

My wife and I are traveling north from Long Island for a few days. We are staying at the Hampton Inn in Hadley-Amherst (MA). The hardest thing when traveling is finding a good place to eat. We hit the jackpot tonight by finding this Italian restaurant near our hotel in Northampton, couple of miles from the hotel.

We ordered takeout and when I went to pick it up it was ready and well packed. The Chicken Francaise with mashed potatoes and vegetable medley was both tasty and delicious. We were very pleased with our choice of restaurants.

I highly recommend this Italian restaurant.
