Went to Mug Shots for lunch today for the first time. I feel so silly that we didn’t know about this restaurant. The food was really good, and the burgers were huge! We got fried pickles for an appetizer and they were amazing (served with homemade ranch that was #delish). We sat at the bar where I had a great bloody Mary and the owner was so nice and efficient. I had no idea this was connected with mancinos, which is so cool. You can order mug shot food/drinks in Mancinos as well as order a mancinos grinder (or pizza) in Mug Shots.

The onion rings were ok but very greasy. My son liked his burger and the chicken sandwich was ok. It was basic fried bar food but not worth 50 bucks.

I had heard about Mug Shots as a comparison to Stella’s burgers in Grand Rapids so I thought they need to be tried out. The outer building is a grey color and Mug Shots sign is white so this place does a good job of hiding!

The main reason for the 3 star was the waitors service. He was excellent. The food i would have given a 2. It was very small portioned, expensive, and pretty flavorless. My wife ordered chicken tenders, and I ordered the nashville hot chicken. The chicken tasted like a frozen chicken patty, and my wife’s strips were rubbery, like they also were cooked from frozen. 4 chicken strips, one chicken sandwich, and the size equivalent of 2 small fries, and 2 waters was $26.47!!! That is ROBBERY! I tipped the waitor fair because he did an excellent job, but this was incredibly disappointing. Should have gone with the excellent pizza or grinders from across the hall.

Outstanding burgers! Our family enjoyed all of our different tastes and the service (Grace) was fantastic. The waffle fries and sweet potato wedges are also excellent. Well done! Try the Mike Tyson, so good.

Man, I liked this place. The burger was really good, and they had good beer, to boot. I got to talk to the owner for quite a while. He made this old Texas boy feel right at home in Michigan. The place has a comfortable, small pub atmosphere. Everyone was friendly. It is worth a visit, and I will be back, if I get up there again.
