Our burgers and fries were perfectly cooked and delicious. The staff was friendly and worked together to ensure patrons were taken care of with no long waits. And the cheese curds were amazing! They also own the connected Mancino’s so your party can order from both places and never leave your table. Would definitely eat there again!

Mugshots is hands-down our favorite neighborhood spot — the kind of place where you feel like a regular even if it’s your first time. I had heard about Mug Shots as a comparison to Stella’s burgers in Grand Rapids so I thought they need to be tried out. The outer building is a grey color and Mug Shots sign is white so this place does a good job of hiding!
The atmosphere here is small. This is a small strip mall with Manchino’s (same owner) on one side and a tattoo parlor on the other. They do manage to fit maybe 15 small tables inside. The motif is large decks of cards with mug shots of celebrities.
I ordered a stuffed burger with bacon and cheddar cheese inside. The burger was excellent. High quality meat cooked perfectly. The burger was immensely satisfying and filling. I also got waffle fries that were good but nothing special. The person I was with got a non stuffed burger with pineapple and teriyaki sauce. They stated they never considered that combination, but it worked flawlessly. The burger was deemed excellent.
The service was very good. Nothing special but better than average.
So did it match Stella’s? No. However it did very well. Stella’s is my #2 burger in West Michigan. Mug Shots is now my new #4, knocking off the Waldorf in Hastings.
Overall a solid 4 1/2 stars. Rounded up to a full 5. Would I return? Happily!
