I was a little scared after reading recent reviews but our experience was pretty good. Hush puppies were fresh and not over greasy as others. The catfish was not bad. For a small town restaurant it met expectations.

The pork was good but needed to be hotter when it was served. The smoked chicken was tender and very juicy. I actually preferred it over the pork. Great selection of delicious sauces and delicious sides. I don’t know if the heat was out but it was cold in the restaurant. Being right on the water it’s a beautiful setting.

The service was great, our waitress was very sweet. The restaurant itself has a good atmosphere and a nice country aesthetic. I loved the decorations. We were the only people in the restaurant, and it’s probably because the food is disgusting. Neither my husband or I finished our food. I didn’t eat any of mine, except the shrimp (which was mediocre). The BBQ, slaw, and baked beans were inedible, in my opinion. I loved the hush puppies though.

We just discovered Mud Creek BBQ and oh my I’m so glad we did. We got a family pack to go. The pulled pork was awesome!!! Lots of food for a good price. I can’t wait to try their taters.

Sadly this establishment seems to be going under. Price cuts are obvious. No A1 no Heinz 57 for the hamburger steak, no coke to drink and they’re serving can drinks. Plastic silverwear, no knives to cut food up for my grandbaby. Servers are nice but need better training on maintaining customer satisfaction and we are very easy people. The price of the food and the experience was just poor quality.

Off the beaten path but well worth the venture off the main highway. The former Pure gas station has the charm and food you are looking for. The pulled pork and fried catfish are very good. More than enough food on the plate to satisfy the hungriest of diners. You can see why this place is in the Alabama Barbecue Hall of Fame.

Drove over 100 miles to stop by what once was the go BBQ restaurant in the tri-state area well I can say that Mudcreek BBQ is now one of the worst bbq restaurants. I’ve ever been to I had heard it was slipping on quality and services since last change of ownership but that does do justice to just how bad it was!
Hush-puppies cold and greasy Coke in a can $2.50 Bbq cold served on a tin tray lost recipe for their famous yellow slaw potato salad I don’t have a clue what they did io it awful taste baked bean were the only thing that I can say came close to expectations!
First clue this was not going to be a good dinner was they were more concerned with closing early due to a slow night as we were walking in the door

I had Smoked chicken and pulled pork BBQ. The meat was tender and smoked to perfection. It is lightly smoked and not over bearing. They have a great selection of sauces from sweet to hot. For sides I had Slaw, Potato Salad, and Mac Cheese. They were all delicious. They serve hush puppies for a pre meal treat and they were delicious. It was great food and plenty of it for the price. My waitress was friendly and kept my T topped off. Great meal highly recommend.

Waited 30 minutes for the most mediocre barbecue to ever exist. No flavor at all. As others have stated, the hush puppies were cold, and full of old grease.

Arrived this evening, a Saturday night, at 7PM. Only one other table was occupied. Tea was unavailable as we were told they were closing soon (8 PM). We were asked to pay our bill before the food arrived because the owner wanted the money. As pictured below, the lights were turned off throughout the restaurant at 7:35 while we were still eating. I am not sure I’ve ever been so uncomfortable and felt rushed to finish. This has always been one of our favorite restaurants but we will not be returning. I’m not sure what has changed but this is not the Mud Creek we’ve all known and loved. Definitely the end of an era.
