I read the reviews before I came so I expected it to be attached to a gas station plaza. Nice vibe on the inside which makes you feel like you’re not in a gas station Plaza. Could use some more lighting, enough daylight coming in for me. Only the bartender was the server when I arrived after 2 PM on a Monday. One other customer and she took care of us both easily. The menu seemed large, there were a lot of shrimp and tilapia options which I don’t prefer. I always look for snapper instead, but I didn’t see that.

Lemon pepper garlic Wings- 10/10. Six wings for $10 was good value. The sauce taste authentic and you can see the nice garlic chunks. Perfectly crispy fried and the wings taste fresh I’d ordered these again.

Fries-good choice of fries with good seasoning/tasty. A little oily

Steak Arepa- 8/10 good value, loaded with meat. Tasty Arepa bread and nice avocado ranch sauce. The meat could’ve been more tender and sliced in a way that’s easier to chew. The container was chopped onions, tomatoes, and cilantro with overpowering jalapeño.

Tuna Ceviche-10/10 she said it was spicy, but it’s not that spicy. It’s like hot sauce spicy. It’s very tasty. I know you think I’m brave for trying ceviche from a restaurant connected to a gas station. I thought it was great. I’m going to check my stomach the next day to see but so far so good with the chips and avocado. This was the only ceviche without shrimp.

Birria tacos-9/10. I thought I asked for no cheese, but they still came with cheese. Please check your food before you leave if you make an alteration. The meat was tasty and the taco shell was a good choice. The Birria dip sauce was flavorful, but it is oily so be careful not to spill. Green sauce good.

I’d come back here/recommend and try a few more options like the steak and a few other taco options. Good parking availability, when it gets packed you may have to be creative with parking. No major complaints really. Wanted more veggie options. In a different location, they’d probably be packed more often.

Mushy, overcooked “Mexican” rice, overcooked and unclean shrimp (they don’t clean the shrimp but at least they were jumbo), overcooked “ribeye” steak (I know a ribeye and that was no ribeye).

So, about the steak, requested medium, got well. Server took the plate but didn’t ask if I wanted it redone or if I wanted something else. In fact, she never came back. She actually spent a lot of time at the end of the bar, on her phone.

And speaking of bar, she couldn’t make our drink order. The lady who took over our table made the drink (it was very good- the best thing we had). Her service was good, hence the 2 stars, but the lady who started out serving us was more interested in her phone conversation as she walked around on the phone with her airpods in. Go figure.

It was date night and I wanted to try somewhere new. After using the handy Yelp search bar, I discovered Muchacho Alegre and decided to make it the choice for the night.

Muchacho Alegre was super easy to find as it’s right on the main strip. Parking is easy as it sits in a small strip plaza so I was able to pull in, park, and get to my Muchacho Alegre experience.

Muchacho Alegre is nice and casual on the inside. As soon as I walked in, the bartender welcomed us and advised us to sit where we desired. Once seated, the bartender was at our table with the more personal hello and providing us with a smile and our menus.

After scrolling the menu for a few I decided on the Birria Tacos (of course I did) and a Sweet Tea.

As I waited on my order I was able to enjoy the ambiance. The music was vibrant, the setting was casual enough for a friend night, yet intimate enough for a date night. Very versatile. Very nice neighborhood option. Very demure (LoL).

When my food came it was time to throw down.
Meaty. Juicy. Nicely Seasoned. Shell fried perfectly. And the consumé was well seasoned, fresh, and not greasy.

Whoever was in the back cooking understood the assignment with my Birria Tacos. Shout out to the chef.

Muchacho Alegre was a nice experience. Good price point. Good food. Good service. Good location. All around GOOD!!!!! Get you some.

It is in a gas station strip mall. The pulpo was very tender, the mango chicken and shrimp was delicious, as were the Al pastor tacos. The rice was actually super good. We had horchata and guava agua fresca to go, both were super flavorful and perfect.

Came across this place on Instagram. Decent food. Drinks are crazy good and I don’t drink. Frozen drinks are amazing. I went to celebrate my wife’s new job. It’s a small place and service is OK but I would go back for the drinks. The seafood boil was mid at best. My wife enjoyed her fajita and drink. The only thing I found annoying was the music was extremely loud and you couldn’t have a good conversation because of the music. Give it a shot. They’re worth checking out.

Service and atmosphere was great! Food was served nice and hot; prompt. I got the seafood boil/bucket (shrimp, sausages, corn, boiled eggs). It was good; however I have had slightly better. But I would definitely visit again!

Accidentally found this spot today and so glad we did. I’ve driven past this plaza several times and always thought this was a Slushy or Italian Ice spot from the colorful pictures of Frozen Drinks I’d glimpse in the window from the street. What a surprise when we pulled up and saw it was a Bar/Restaurant with the cutest interior and most amazing Mexican/Seafood fusion spot ever! Amazing customer service and the nicest Staff. If you’re ever in the area, please give them a try. You won’t be disappointed. We’ll definitely be repeat customers. The food was tha BOMB!

The shrimp empanadas great and chicken wings were pretty good. steak fajitas were extremely dry, bland and chewy. The place was slow on a Sunday evening but the bartender and waitress waited until they finished talking for a bit before getting my Togo drink. The decor is cute and laid back vibe.
