I have only been to this place once, so I’m not sure if my comments are valid compared to people who have been there multiple times. Nevertheless, I want to share my first experience. We visited on a Tuesday noon, and the atmosphere was pleasant with many people sitting but not overly crowded. The waiters were nice, although quite busy.

We had a party of 30 people, we called a few days ahead but the party room was booked, but to our wonderful surprise, they hooked us up and got us the room. The eggplant with basil is to die for, literally ordered it twice. The food was so good we ordered 2 of basically everything. Good wasn’t spicy at all and everyone had a great time. Plenty of parking in the back.

I am obsessed with this place! Everything we’ve tried has been delicious, and the portions are generous. A lot of places are stingy on takeout or everything leaks on the way home, not at Mu Lan. Everything is carefully packaged, and the portions equal what you get in the restaurant. My favorites are the crispy chicken, Mongolian beef, stir fried spinach w/ garlic (not pictured), and the string beans. Other highlights are the tofu, duck, and eggplant. Do not hesitate – come here in person or for takeout, you’re going to love it!

All dishes taste the same, not good at all. Feels like everything are cooked/boiled the same way. Won’t be back again.

Our whole family loves Mulan! The food is always fresh and delicious. Everyone who works here is super friendly! It’s the best Chinese restaurant in Boston for sure. If you go on the weekends there will be a slight wait, but it’s definitely worth it. They serve all kinds of Chinese dishes you would expect, and the smoked duck is an absolute must-try dish! It’s not too common that you find a Chinese restaurant with a delicious and UNIQUE menu made from fresh ingredients. Even less common is a Chinese restaurant with amazing food served in an inviting, warm, and modern atmosphere. Every corner in the restaurant is clean and elegant, including the restrooms! All the prices are reasonable and all dishes are served with a generous portion! Lunch special is a super deal. You wouldn’t find a place this special anywhere else! I would give this place a 100/10 if I could.

Popular spot on Main Street with street parking out front and across the road. The seaweed salad dish looks and tastes like Costco-quality seaweed salad dumped over Romaine lettuce on a plate, unfortunately. The lunch specials offer smaller portions of dishes at a lower price and are good for trying more dishes with a small group. The salt and pepper pork chops and fish with black bean sauce were good!

Efficient service, huge portions for the price, a little bland but fixable. Great bang for your buck.

Food was prepared, cooked, and seasoned very well. Very consistent quality.

Food overall is not bad, but this not really authentic Taiwanese food. Most options here are simply Chinese, not Taiwanese. In fact, I don’t know how you can call yourself a Taiwanese restaurant when you don’t even have things like stewed beef noodle soup (紅燒牛肉麵) or stinky tofu (臭豆腐) on the menu. If you have to label certain items on your menu 台式 (Taiwanese-style) then you’re not truly a Taiwanese restaurant are you? Otherwise why would you need to make that distinction?

This is the best asian restaurant in the area. We have been here over a dozen times. I just can’t say enough good things about this place.
