Fun place, great atmosphere, phenomenal food, exceptional beer! Everything about this place was fun, light and easy. The servers had wonderful customer service, they were friendly and smiled a lot. They were attentive but not clingy. The food was fresh and seasoned not bland and boring. The beer was flavorful and fresh. This was a wonderful stop after our jeep tour and it did not disappoint!

Set in the small mountain town of CusterSD, this brewery offers a great line of custom brewed beer. Everything from an American Lager to Amber to a chili chocolate porter. There is even a full bar with a good variety of liquor and wine.
Food was outstanding! We had the beer cheese pretzel appetizer. Then the American burger ( The Washington) comes in beef, bison, or elk. I had the bison and it was delicious! My wife had the Avocado spinach chicken wrap. The Rooster Tail Amber was so good! I would come here again and recommend it. Service was very good with lots of servers and staff buzzing about.
Note, you should park behind the restaurant not the street side. This is where the main entrance is.

Great overall service. We stopped for an early dinner and sat in the back patio area. Great atmosphere and service. The food really stood out. We ordered wings, a couple burgers and the prime rib sliders. All the food was excellent! The homemade fries are uniquely cut, super crispy outside and soft inside. We also got a couple of IPAs also very good. Definitely recommend stopping if you are in the area!

Disappointed. Off the bat, the menu prices they show online are lower than actual by $3-$7 per entree. That is unacceptable. The atmosphere is bar and prices are high end. The saffron rice and rice pilaf were not good. The corn was fine. The asparagus and mashed potatoes were really good. The walleye and quail were ok but not great. The kriek is not very good, the apricot-peach sour was better. The server was slow, and on his phone a lot. He took my son’s sprite to refill and never returned with any more.

Nice large indoor/outdoor craft brewery and restaurant. Beer was really good. We only tried the hummus. It was a bit too thick and dry for our taste but we really just came for a beer.
If you are looking for Pounding Fathers Restaurant. It is upstairs inside this place . I was told it’s a steak place

If you can stay and experience their Sunday morning buffet it’s a must! For around $20/person it’s a killer deal!
The food is diverse and exceptionally seasoned with an omelette station.
The restaurant has an open air concept and a very warm and friendly vibe.
The crew took care of us like VIP customers, someone came in with their dogs, they were polite and sat at a far table on the sidewalk and the staff made a point to take care of the dog too!
This will be a breakfast stop every time we visit.

Amazing brewery and the food is even better. Aside from the normal burgers, the pizza choices are great, and a nice selection of Japanese, Indonesian, and Indian dishes that you’d be hard-pressed to find anywhere else. Great beer selection of IPAs, Amber’s, sprouts, wheat beer, and pilsners with a ton of flavor.

Food was decent… nothing to right home about. I had the Bison Burger… but the highlight was the Fries.
Had the flight. Had high hopes for the Bison Snot (I love oatmeal stouts), but it was “fine” at best. I enjoyed the Pils and Lager the most (but that might be a reflection of where I am in life as well).
Wouldn’t mind coming back just for the atmosphere and cool logo 🙂

Great place to stop for a beer or drink and carefully prepared food. The waiter Mario was great and very accommodating. Plenty of places to sit inside and outside. The beer selection is great all local beers. The spicy margaritas where made perfect. The menu was 2 pages and covered sandwich and burger choices. There was an area with steaks and some seafood. Wife got pork and it was prepared perfect with lots of flavor. I had scallops that melted in your mouth, alittle strong on The garlic but very well prepared. Others at our table got a salad a burger and tenderloin. All recieved great reviews. Definitely a good place to stop for lunch or dinner.

I switched from 3 to 4 stars, and I would definitely go back to try their upstairs restaurant, but I was excited about the food and we just weren’t that impressed. It was good, just not great, so if I went back to the back area, it would be for the beer and ambiance. The service was great, though, even while busy. We had the duck and crab sliders. I am always looking for something I won’t make at home, (even something standard with a twist), which is tougher to find in the black hills. This place has three restaurants with three different menus in the same building, so make sure you go to the one you are looking for. One does not allow kids, but this one does.
