Ordered chicken rice soup and a turkey club the first time I ordered and it was delicious. The soup was creamy.
Today I had the cheesy potato soup and grilled cheese. The soup was creamy and delicious. The potatoes were in bigger chunks, but not huge. Had great flavor. The grilled cheese was toasty. Fries came with my grilled cheese, but I didn’t try them.
The waitress was quick and friendly. On top of drinks. The food came out quick.
My coworkers had chicken fingers and a blt.

What a hidden gem! I love coming here anytime I visit the area. It is a local favorite. Delicious skillets, burgers, fish, etc… the broccoli and cheese soup is to do for. As well as the homemade onion rings, fries, and fried mushrooms. My personal favorite is the house skillet. The owner is a sweet, kind lady that works in the kitchen and knows all the locals. The wait staff are always fast and attentive. They also have healthy options as well. Huge portions for a really great price! Lunch is served after 11 am. Love this spot. Conveniently located downtown historic Mount Carroll.

Had a nice lunch. Locals eat here and staff is very friendly . Little none secret the shop next door is owned by the same owners and even though it’s not open you can take the adjoining door from the restraint and shop I bought 2 swag lamps from the 60s for 20.00 [for both] total score ! The shop is filled with all Vintage items.

We needed a place to stop for breakfast while on the road. The waitress was very patient with me as I needed to take a menu out to our van. (We have a puppy and didn’t want to leave her) Everything was delicious and hot. Coffee was excellent! Thank you so much!

Stopped here for breakfast while out on a two-day concert gig. Such a lovely little place with that small town vibe, I knew the food would be great! Got eggs, sausage and pancakes and it was all delicious. I’m from over 2 hours away, East, so this was such a nice little spot!

Decent selection of entrees and their sandwiches,wraps, and burgers are delicious. The fries are amazing, as well as the pickles. Friendly waitstaff and kitchen crew that always deliver the goods (extra sauces or anything have always been given).
The chicken strips and J sauce are as good or better than any I’ve had in the area.
They close up early (7pm) and offer pickup and dine in. They place is immaculately clean and inviting.

Gotta love our hometown cafe! A classic small-town eating experience in the heart of historic downtown Mount Carroll. Great food, homemade desserts and other specialties. Large “community” table Is a favorite spot for those wanting to eat and chat with friends and neighbors. Prices are appropriate, and the service is fast and friendly. Overall an excellent experience and a place you’ll want to come back to over and over.
