Nice warm greeting at the door. If you like little neighborhood cafes, this is your kinda place. Small and quaint. Ms. R definitely needs to spruce the place up a bit. She’s been cooking in this location for over 20 years, and it’s time. The double cheese was huge and the fish sandwich was fresh. If I’m in the area I will be back. They seem to have some good dinner specials.

The food is authentic and amazing. Prepared with pride homemade food! I have had the neck bones and the pork chops. Can’t wait to have the smothered steak and baked chicken. Sides have all been really good. Black eyed peas, cabbage, yams, green beans… This place makes me eat more than I probably should LOL.

I work in the area. So I’m always looking for new places to try. You get tired of the same old stuff. I stumbled across this little family owned establishment. They have a wide variety of items on their menu. I ordered the Monday special which was meatloaf, and 2 sides. I chose yams and cabbage. Well lets just say when you call in a order even tho they say 15 minutes it’s never ready when you get there. The meatloaf was very salty and falling apart. The cabbage was overcooked and soggy and the yams had a weird seasoning. I didn’t let that 1st time get to me though. I went back for their burger the next day. DING! DING! DING! DING! WE HAVE A WINNER!!! The burgers are hand patted and made to order and it was soooo good. Even if you order a “small” its pretty huge

Disappointed to say the least. Went in for soul food but after the smell not hitting me at the door(as it should), I ordered a burger. In addition to the burger, I ordered a side of cabbage, and a banana pudding dessert. The burger is under seasoned, bread is soggy, and the out of the freezer fries were almost burnt. The cabbage was soggy and I have more onions than cabbage in my container. The banana pudding that was given to me, was frozen with brown bananas in it. I am appalled, disappointed, and will never be back. Today was my first and last time going to this restaurant.. I wasted $13 today on food, $6 on gas, and priceless time I can’t get back smh.

Great soul food joint! Went for a quick dinner and was completely satisfied. Smothered chicken and dressing on Mondays! Peach cobbler is so good! Wish I could go there everyday! Small place and not a lot of cool air circulating,All the items are always great! The staff is friendly and the prices are great. I love the peach cobbler!

This was my 1st time going I pass by it a few times but never stopped in. If there’s one thing that I have missed since I’ve moved to this city 10 years ago would be the soul food restaurants that I grew up with in Saint Louis and Detroit. With that being said I would just like to let people know this food was great. Tender chops homemade mashed potatoes perfect collards perfect cabbage. I am a true sweet potato fan which was one of the reasons why I even went. However they just ran out before I arrived. The owner being who she is and understanding how bad I might have wanted those potatoes she had just a little bit of sweet potato juice put it in a container with some corn bread and gave it to me and when I tell you it was dynamite it was dynamite. Thank you mrs R. I will definitely be back.

Small place just outside of Kansas City. Don’t let the size or appearance fool you. The food and service are immaculate with some of the most kind employees. Unbelievable prices for the amount of food you get! If you leave hungry, it’s your own fault. Would definitely go again if I’m ever back in the area.
