Geraldine got me right!!! Thank you so much love. I use to eat at pearl of the island in tamarac but they couldnt follow request such as tape my Uber eats closed. I called this place and they delivered and taped it with no problem. God bless this place!

Always delicious food with generous portions. I ordered legume, and it came with rice, beans, and plantains. Most recently I ordered take out from them after 7 pm, and the food was still fresh to the eye, to the smell, and to the taste. Food hit the spot! What surprises me is their intentional emphasis on great customer service. Once I entered this establishment with Caribbean cuisine, Jay greeted me warmly and made sure I was satisfied. He did admit that they had to switch the rice type. I’d expect that from a popular place with great food. If you’re hungry, go make your belly happy at this place! Their menu is in two languages. They have a spacious dine in area or you can order take out.

For the most part I am pretty picky about Haitian Food… and just going out to eat at Haitian restaurants in general. My main frustration is… either the food is good but the service is horrible, the service is great but the food is meh… or if the place has ok service and decent food.. they never have most items on their menu available…
With this in mind I’ve all but given up trying to find a place i love (after some of my favorite places closed) while also being confident that it is a place i can refer ppl to…. that is until today!
The food at M&S is great! tastes just like the home cooking I got as a child. The staff is friendly and amazing. The have plenty of room to sit down to eat, as well as take out option. You can even find them on GRUBHUB.
We got the griot, oxtail, chicken is sauce/stew chicken, Legume , and the griot. Everything tasted great! I loved the bean sauce provided for the rice… and the pikliz was on point!
If you are ever in the East Oakland/ ft laud area I highly recommend as they know what they are doing.

i ordered the fried beef complete and a green drink. the food is good however i wish the prices were a little less expensive! my order came to $22. the portion sizes are great and it is worth their price! when ordering over the phone customer service is not the best! in person employees are respectful and helpful!

1st time I had black rice it was amazing, so of course I went back, 2nd time it was disappointing, I must have gotten the bottom of the left over rice, it was hard and dry, and the chicken wasn’t good either, so I called and left apparently the owner Jay a message! A honest one at that!!! since he was the one that told me they have different cooks, and my 2nd time around I guess that cook was not as good as the other one! And I honestly believe they don’t want me as a costumer bcus when I go or call on Friday ( bcus that is the day they have black rice) come 4pm they have run out!!!! So I guess I will have someone call for me to order and see how true is it that they run out of the black rice so early!

As you know that many Haitian restaurant’s customer service is horrible, but this place was amazing. The restaurant manager was nice and made sure that I got what I wanted. I order my food around 8 pm and let me tell you everything was fresh and flavorful. I would definitely recommend trying this place out.

I ordered griot, turkey, and fish. First the restaurant called me to say they are out of Turkey, how does a restaurant have an item on their menu and then call the customer to say they are out of it? This is very unprofessional. I changed the turkey to something else. Then the plates arrived, and the grist plate had the grist in the slot that is made for the side items while one of the side items which is rice was in the slot of the main entree. I ordered griot and the main entree, not rice, but I got a plate full of rice and a fee pieces of grist on the side. This is ridiculous, that does not happen in any other type of restaurants I have ordered food. I will never use this restaurant again, and I caution others to not use it either. The food was ok when it comes to taste, but I did not order rice, I got 3 huge plates full of rice with the main entrees in the little sides place in the to go plate.

Ordered the griot and legume off Uber eats boy when I tell you the food was griot fried to perfection legume was good that Haitian rice is my weakness if I’m dying just lay a plate of Haitian rice out I guarantee I’m pulling thru. 1st I’D LIKE TO START BY SAYING I LOVE THIS PLACE and have been coming here for 10+ years. Today I ordered some food and when I opened the box with the rice I almost threw up. The rice was slimy, sticky, mushy, and smelled like it had been left outside for days. Idk what would compell someone to serve someone rotten food, but I am extremely disappointed. Never again.
