Kate and Nicole are amazing, always sweethearts. There’s some other lady, Sasha I believe? ALWAYS rude, miserable, makes it insufferable – will not go when she’s there
It is now April 10th, 2024 and
I am trying to elaborate on what transpired and give the backstory as well, in response to Ms. Thompson’s response but my story is too long in this space. However, after living in HB for 23 years before moving to SC (thus the not being able to come view the video) I stand by my review! We’ve been coming to this bar for over 15 years minus 20(covid) & 21(fire) and each time I went in the day before and told them that On Good Friday a large group of golfers (15-28) would be coming in between 4-5pm, so that there would be no surprise. I did so to this “older” bartender on Thursday, March 28th at appx. 3:30pm when there were 3 people sitting at the bar, she wrote it down and said she would let someone know. The 1st group including the 2 african-american and 4 white guys came in to a bar that had 6 patrons sitting at the bar (hardly a “FULL” bar). They ordered drinks, 2 pies and 2 orders of wings which they never were told that it would take 20 minutes but that doesn’t matter because they never got the pies which were walked right past them to a white table of our group and never got the wings either and the bartender never made it down to get anyone another drink despite numerous “excuse me’s, hand waves and other exorbitant acts to try and get the bartenders attention ( that should be on the video!) She had no desire to handle our group purposely for the most part hanging at the other end of the bar. Even when I arrived, a while after the initial group, she said to me “oh, you’re the guy from yesterday” with nary a thanks or even a hint of appreciation for bringing this much business on a slow afternoon. I’m not saying the town or the bar has any racial bias but the actions by this “older” bartender was seen and felt by our group. Like I said we come to your bar because it is convenient, to drink, play pool, eat something, listen to music and just to hang out with our friends while spending $30-$50 per person as well as tipping generously for just a couple hours.
I am disappointed in Ms. Thompson’s response, with no apology given or anything leaning towards that! No one was in a hurry except for possibly the bartender wanting her shift to end. I have tried to call Ms. Thompson at both her jobs and she wasn’t at either. If she is truly interested in talking to someone, I can send a few proxies including one of the african-american gentlemen to talk about what transpired or she can let me know how to get in contact with her.
