During our visit, a few menu items we were interested in — including the clam chowder — were unfortunately unavailable. I ended up ordering the tri-tip tacos. The flavor merely okay, the presentation and toppings were minimal compared to what i expected, and some ingredients such as cilantro were missing.
Additionally, most of the meals at our table had small errors or missing components. Omelettes missing tri-tip or other protein also, when the food was delivered, several dishes were served to the wrong guests, which created some confusion at the table. The staff was polite and did make an effort to address the concerns, which we appreciated, but the overall dining experience did not fully meet our expectations. Only one plate was not wrong.
This location is definitely worth visiting for the scenery, ambiance, and possibly drinks. Hopefully, our experience was just an off day, as the setting truly is lovely. With more consistency in menu availability, order accuracy, and food preparation, it could be a wonderful dining destination.
As a place to eat I would not recommend.
The food is alright too. Though I wouldn’t say the food is top top reason to come here. Prices are also on part with what you’d pay at a small restaurant.
We arrived on a Sunday morning expecting it to be busy, but to our surprise, it was quite quiet around 8:30 AM. For breakfast, I tried the chilaquiles, as well as the pancakes and French toast. The flavors were good and satisfying, though nothing particularly extraordinary. There was an extra charge for eggs, which was expected with the price increase, overall, the meal was enjoyable.
I’d love to come back and try their Bloody Mary’s—they looked incredibly refreshing and delicious!
The interior of the restaurant was nicely decorated and interesting, the staff were kind, and the food tasted pretty good.
The only downside was that the clam chowder felt more like potato soup.
Extremely disappointed. Ms. Olson’s used to be the breakfast spot a couple of years ago. Had I known it was under new management, I honestly wouldn’t have gone back. The previous owner was always so sweet and welcoming, which made the place special.
I should’ve taken the hint when the restaurant was nearly empty, and then the table behind us actually got up and left because the kitchen was out of several breakfast items. When our food finally arrived, it was very underwhelming. The potatoes were cold, and the overall quality just wasn’t there.
To make matters worse, it was ridiculously expensive. Two breakfast plates plus nearly 13% sales tax came out to $80, which is wild considering the quality of the food and experience.
Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.
We ate breakfast here and it was terrible. I don’t know if they got a new cook or what is going on. Our food looked great, but that’s as far as its goodness went. My son’s hot chicken sandwich was not very good. The fries were the only good food out of both our meals. I ordered an omelet with sourdough toast and crispy hash browns. All the moisture was cooked out of the hash browns and it was like eating plastic. My “toast” was just warmed bread that was not even near being toasted. The omelet had almost no cheese and the vegis were way over grilled. My stomach still hurts from my breakfast and it’s now midnight that I’m writing this review. Our service at first was great. We got drinks and gave our order quite quickly. Then as we waited for our food, 2 other tables were seated and received their food before we did. One of the tables was seated at least 10 minutes after we ordered. This experience will keep me away for a while.
