In 1971, Butch Mordick bought the Mrs. Mike’s Potato Chip Company. Almost 50 years later, Butch happily admits the company has grown beyond his vision. Renamed Mrs. Mike’s Potato Chips, Freeport, Illinois still serves as homebase for the company, although they now have a nationwide customer base. Mrs. Mike’s has operated out of the same building since 1971 – employing six people, including Mordick’s sons, Matt and Dan. While potato chips are still the company’s biggest seller, Mr’s. Mike’s has added new products — such as popcorn and pretzels — that fit well into the mix.

Best potato chips in the world as far as I’m concerned! They do what they do, and they do it well. If you have an event, or just want to eat yourself into a potato chip induced coma, you can go right to this location and buy a bulk box of them, right off the line. 5 stars isn’t enough for these folks- they’re one of the best things to come out of Freeport.

These guys make THE BEST potato chips I have ever had, I would gladly travel over an hour for a bag of these chips. I very highly recommend recommend trying out these chips and I guarantee you will fall in love with the taste of these delicious chips just like I did!

My grandaughter, age 8 was at my house today and we had ordered out from a restaurant that makes homemade chips. She tasted one and said, “these tastes funny do you have any Mrs. Mikes?” Why yes I did and she ate those right down.

I ordered my usual batch of 10 bags before Christmas….they were the normal AWESOME…..then two weeks ago I ordered ANOTHER 10 bags and they ALL have a strange taste to them and I ended up doing something I have NEVER done to even a SINGLE Mrs Mikes Potato Chip in the 45 years I have been eating and loving them.., I ended up tossing out ALL TEN BAGS. Wasted almost $70.00 that time… I have been buying and loving them a LONG time, even when I was in Iraq in 2003 I had 5 bags shipped to me there. And even though the 130 degree heat melted all the grease off the chips to the bottom of the bag in a big ball…..I STILL ATE THEM ALL..YUMMY lol. But these ……sad to say were not good…..I thought maybe a change in recipe also…..WHAT HAPPENED??? I dont want to order another batch like THAT ONE…SAD 🙁
