My husband I wanted something different for our Anniversary. I ordered a bowl of gumbo (delicious) and crab cakes (delicious) my husband had the seafood basket with blackened catfish, fried oysters, fried shrimp, hushpuppies, and fries adding a bowl if Red Beans and Rice. We loved it, the food was so good. The waitstaff very attentive and the owner very friendly and wanting everyone to be happy with their food. Tonight there was guy singing with his guitar and he was also, great. The inside is decorated so cute and Madi Gras stley. Definitely will come back again.

We found this place while being in town for my daughter’s wedding. Mr. Kevin is the real deal. The food was amazing! I can’t say one thing to order because we ordered several things and everything was delicious. This is the first authentic Louisiana restaurant that we have found here in North Texas. Come prepared to eat and then need a nap!!

Came here with my wife hoping for a solid Cajun experience, and honestly… it started strong and then fumbled the ball like Bobby Boucher before halftime.

The appetizers? Absolute MVPs. The gator balls were small but mighty—packed with flavor and gone in about three bites. The boudin egg rolls? No notes. They understood the assignment and executed beautifully.

Then the main courses came out and suddenly everything went foosball is the devil downhill.

The gumbo was so salty I’m pretty sure my blood pressure stood up and walked out. The fried oysters had a mysterious “what am I tasting?” vibe that I couldn’t solve and didn’t want to. And the shrimp and grits… listen, I wanted to love it, but it just didn’t do it for me. Zero spark. No chemistry. We’re just friends.

I’m honestly confused by some of the previous rave reviews. Either I came on an off night or some folks haven’t been baptized in the holy waters of a truly great Cajun spot. Bobby Boucher would’ve taken one bite of that gumbo and said, “That ain’t right.”

Overall: great starters, disappointing mains, and a meal that started like a touchdown drive and ended in a turnover. I’d come back for apps and drinks… but the entrées might need a visit from Mama Boucher to set things straight.

Had an anniversary dinner , the place is tucked away from the busy 35 corridor. Live music single guitar and knowledgeable about his songlist recognition of artist. My meal a seafood basket with blackened catfish, shrimp, fried oysters, and hush puppies and fries. Red beans and rice. My wife had two appetizers gumbo and crab cakes. The owner is very personal and talks to every tables as old friends lost in the years. When ask for sauce for fries, gave a mixture for him to mix up, he obliged and brought out to table, he ask and I replied of sauce from somewhere. He have to a flare it Cajun style. Overall a wonderful evening and delicious food

Absolutely delicious! We loved our experience and had an incredible Sunday lunch! This delightful restaurant just off Lake Lewisville, and within walking distance from the marina is fantastic! If you want authentic and by a beautiful setting look no further! Quaint older restaurant near the lake just as a cajun restaurant should be!
We tried a bit of everything, including dessert…the bread pudding is the best ever! The catfish was hot plump and delicious, no fishy taste and the fried oysters were perfect! The fried green tomatoes were just as I had hoped! The owner is a delight and it was so nice to get to speak to him about his restaurant and his passion in cajun cuisine. We found out that he has won numerous state fair food creation awards and well that in itself is pretty cool! He was so helpful and I can’t say enough awesome things about this restaurant…you must try it, he offers other cuisine options as well including sandwiches, salads, burger, chicken fried steak etc. And since it is a scratch kitchen your dish can be tweaked to your liking! We will most definitely be back!

This is a cute little restaurant located by a boat ramp that is hidden away from view. The service is superb from the owner who was talkative and very friendly. The Cajun food was excellent plenty with tasty boudin, alligator balls, shrimp and grits, and good mudbugs. The seasoning on the mud bugs was tasty but there was a begiyamd end nothing in between. Still tasty. I loved the mardi grA beads and the music. Certain worth the trip.

Great food and service. Was more than we could eat. I was in the mood for some good Etouffee and wow, did this hit the spot. Will definitely be back. Wife had the Gumbo and she loved it as well. We had a couple of pieces of the catfish and the flavor was great.
