Down-home Southern plates whipped up in a small, humble house with old-timey photos & porch rockers.

This place makes me so happy. I have been here 4 times for lunch in about a week and a half, because it reminds me of my grandmothers. I, or someone in my family, has had turkey wings, fried chicken, oz tails, meatloaf, smothered pork chop, and essentially all of the side orders. The collard greens and rice and gravy are probably my favorites. The ladies who work here are lovely. They are set up for takeaway as well if that is what you need.

This is the definition of southern soul food. Food so good that it could start a fight if someone snatches your cornbread.

This is a nice hidden little gem here in Montgomery! I’ll tell you, the sides are fantastic! Classic yams, mac, cornbread, greens etc. While I’ve had better fried chicken(s), this still gets an honorable mention for that ole’ southern style cooking. All are welcome and they do accept cash/card. We got two meals for just around $25. Not bad!

Tried this place and the desert was excelent. I got sweet potato pie. I ordered baked chicken and mac and cheese and collard green. Collards on point. Mac and cheese a lil too salty but otherwise good. Chicken was FALL OFF THE BONE good. My only gripe was the parking. I almost hit someone because its so tight and chaotic.

Omg, if you’re ever in Montgomery on a Sunday or Wednesday you have got to stop here and get the ox tails! Greens are on point, Mac and cheese outstanding, portions are huge. I started eating before I remembered to take a picture . 10 out of 10, staff is super welcoming and friendly, sweet tea comes with your meal and it was true southern style. If you NEED out of this world soul food one to Mrs. B’s.

Really good food.
Had the fried catfish, fried tilapia, and fried chicken. All of them were good and fresh, but fried catfish was the table favorite. The fried chicken was a bit greasy and heavy.
Lemonade was a tad sweet, but the sweet tea was delicious.

I tried this place because a friend recommended for as the food was top choice for soul food in Montgomery! The atmosphere was pretty great and and I was welcome. The food distasteful my meal was the cabbage, Mac-cheese, and the fried chicken and the cornbread. Immediately I taste the cabbage and they taste like a tea bag with seasoning on them. The chicken undercooked the Mac- cheese clumpy. This was a terrible. I paid over $14 this has ruin my taste buds for the rest of week!!

First visit: I would say 2.5 stars. I think we would’ve received a better quality of food if we were there when they first open. The corn was cold, the lima beans was dry (no juice on bottom), chicken thigh/rice were overcooked, and the yams were okay. However, the collard greens were delicious. Maybe in the future, we will give them another try. The price of the meals were reasonable. Customer Service was great!

Love the fried chicken, rice w/gravy and greens. My plate came with cornbread and a sweet tea. Hot as hell in the dining room, no A/C. Fans all over the place on high. Dude is passed out in a food coma across from me. I knew this was my kinda place when I walked in there. Simple no nonsense menu. Great food choices with plenty of side options too. Definitely coming back for the meat loaf or catfish next time.
