Mr. Z’s is just the kind of place where you feel like you’ve walked into somewhere honest, no pretenses. The food hits — big portions, solid flavors — burgers, fries, subs, nothing fancy, just good. The atmosphere is casual and loud in a good way, with folks in work boots, the regulars, the easy conversations. Prices are friendly too, good value for how much you get. If you’re looking for someplace reliable after a long shift or when you just want comfort food done right, Mr. Z’s is the spot.

Update: Latest visit, bartender Deb had quite the mouth dropping the F bomb multiple times and was very rude. Food came before beer. New walk ins sitting at the bar got priority, lost another star, might think about returning sadly, our waitress was GREAT and gave her 30+%, end. I previously gave this restaurant five stars about a year ago, I’m not sure what has changed, but it isn’t for the best. We’ve been coming here for 5 years and for the most part the pizza has been spot on and food on average has been typical of the area, not the greatest. Since we moved here 5 years ago from a very Italian area, Italian food here is not what you expect. To each their own recipe, but pasta bolognese that looks like hamburger helper? I’ve never seen fish made quite this way, coming from Rhode Island I definitely know fish and chips and chowder. I couldn’t take the fly constantly nagging me. Bottled beer was not cold, I was told all of the bears are the same temperature lol, so I got water. Our waitress did her best, but you should know what’s on tap without having to check. Different music coming from two different areas was definitely annoying. We will come again and I will stay with three stars for now pending our next visit. Posting pictures of our food, note The two photos after the first bolognese is what it should look like. Fried pickles spot on. As mentioned, we will return but would not recommend at this time.

The staff was friendly, the atmosphere very inviting. The food was amazing! We only stopped in for a quick bite, a house burger and wings. Fresh warm rolls were brought out before we ordered. And we also had the Pinot Grigio, which was perfectly chilled and crisp. I would definitely recommend this restaurant as a must-stop for any out of town-ers nervous about if they are wasting their money on in unknown territory. You can rest assured—two thumbs up!

We visited Mr. Z’s Restaurant with our two boys (8 & 6) on the way from CT to RI, right before taking a snowy hike in the woods (amazing). It’s was like finding a hidden treasure. The people were friendly, the atmosphere inviting, and the food hit the spot. I mean it was like a home cooked meal. Boys ordered from the kids menu and I got the lunch special (Lasagne with garlic bread). Compared to city prices, it felt like stealing. Looking forward to visiting again for another memorable experience.

I’ve been coming here for the last 5 or so years. Never have I had a negative experience. The food arrived quicker than I’ve ever seen before. Chicken parm and lasagna are good portions for leftovers as well.

It was not great but not horrible either. The burger tasted funny to us but just could have been lack of spices or flavors. Never really didn’t like a burger before. Garlic bread pizza was pretty good. Our server was very kind and attentive.

Good luck if you order a meat lovers for delivery. You’ll need a fork to eat it. You cant even pick it up out of the box almost as if the pizza wasnt cooked long enough. Next time we are going to longos they are way more consistent

The food was great. We usually order pizza but our party of 9 opted for separate dishes this time. We all enjoyed our meals. Our waitress was phenomenal!! It was my sister‘s birthday. She’s allergic to chocolate and they did not have any non-chocolate desserts at the time. The waitress actually went across the street and got vanilla ice cream and made a sundae so my sister could have a birthday dessert with a candle. ❤️
