We tried Mr. Zhang Kitchen for the first time, and boy, it did not disappoint! From the friendly, welcoming staff to the food—ABSOLUTELY delicious. This is now our new favorite restaurant.
We ordered the following:
1. Chicken on a Stick (A MUST!) – So flavorful.
2. Pork Dumplings – Explosive flavors.
3. House Special Fried Rice – The best I’ve tasted in the area.
4. Ribs with Rice – My kids wanted more!
5. Beef Shank with Rice & Noodles – Very flavorful.

First time ordering take out from Mr Zhang. Pleasantly suprised. Delivery was super quick. Food was absolutely delicious and not flooded with salt. Pepper steak with onion very tender. Chicken and broccoli was great and roast pork lo main alsovery good. Definitely will order again!

After moving away from my favorite Chinese restaurant in Passaic, I couldn’t find a comparable place in the Hackensack area. Then I found Mr. Zhang’s Kitchen. The food is flavorful and loaded with nice slices of beef. I typically order the beef with mixed vegetables. Plenty of baby corn, broccoli, onion, and pepper. The combination order has good proportion of rice to the main dish. Everything is fresh. And the owner is simply appreciative of her customers. Even though they are at the north end of River edge, and I’m at the north end of Hackensack, it’s worth a trip to get there

I absolutely love this place. I’ve been hearing 5 times not and they’re haven’t disappointed. Singapore Mai fun, General Tso’s chicken, chicken wings, shrimp with lobster sauce, sweet and sour soup, steamed pork dumplings. BOOM, BOOM, BOOM! This place is amazing. CHECK THEM OUT!!!

This is the best Chinese spot in Bergen county. The quality and price can’t be beat. The vegetables taste fresher than any other Chinese takeout we have ordered from and there are a lot of options to choose from. To top it off they are super friendly people!

I just got one of their mailings today and I decided to give it a chance. I normally go to wing lee in Washington township since it’s so close. We’ll thats over with. This os most definitely our new spot. It’s a longer drive but well worth it. Shrimp and chicken pad thai is excellent. Little heat and love the fresh cilantro in it. Steamed dumplings outstanding. Also got the standard sweet and sour chicken. I’m starting to think everyone just makes it the same.
The lady at the front counter was unbelievably kind. That is how you run a business. All smiles filled with kindness. For that alone I’ll be coming back. Only hard part is the parking very small lot in the back. Bring someone with you while you run in and grab the food.
I will be back and spreading the word to go here

I got the pan fried vegetable dumplings and they were honestly so good. They had a great crunch and the filling tasted fresh and they weren’t too oily. The woman working there was super nice and actually took a minute to explain the different options to me. Really great experience overall. I’ll definitely be coming back to try something else.

Growing up, I often was told by my family that the Chinese take out in the north east like New York and Jersey is just better. Plain and simple and ive been searching for that one place that just has that New York China town flavor but closer to me. It was tough but this place is just… great. It doesnt need an kver explanation. A lot of eastern take out places have gotten lazy and sloppy and the food just doesnt taste fresh and hand made. The owner js a lovely woman who values the quality of her food. The portions are great and she takes care of her customers. Nothing feels processed, or cheap. It’s just that delicious chinese take out that you remember as a kid. Her dumplings, perfect, her fried rice, never greasy never has that old oil taste, just fresh delicious fried rice, her milk tea is brewed in house not some powder mox crap. Just good food. All around my favorite take out place in Bergen county.
