The food was disappointing overall. The barbecue pork was very dry, the chow mein lacked flavor, and while the orange chicken was crispy, it didn’t deliver the satisfying quality I expect from takeout Chinese food.
The staff was friendly and communicated well, which I appreciated. However, the pricing is unreasonable. Charging $22 for a basic combo plate feels like price gouging. I understand that Lake Forest has a higher cost of living and that many residents earn reasonable wages as a result, but that does not make it reasonable to charge such inflated prices for a very standard takeout meal.
While cooking at home is always an option, when you’re hungry and choosing takeout, fair pricing matters. Unfortunately, the value just wasn’t there, and I would not return.

Food is amazing and they’re so nice when assisting you! I ordered the three entree combo, which is the three entrees and two sides, I also got an extra side of noodles + two things of teriyaki sauce and total came out $16 even
There’s someone on here who posted a review last month saying the food is disappointment and paid $22 for a combo, double false because I got the most expensive combo and paid under $20
I told the lady I don’t want a drink since I had mojitos at the house but $16 is a great deal for great food. There’s also a sign that says they offer discounts for the el toro students since that school is nearby

Bbq pork is very very good, so are the noodles. But the orange chicken and specially the fried wings are pretty average to say the least. Great price and a lot of food! Ill come back just for the bbq pork

Awesome local spot! Better quality than Panda Express, and the quantity is much much more! (Though less options). You’re supporting a small family owned restaurant by going here and it’s been a Lake Forest take out staple for a long time. My go-to place for Chinese food. $9 for a LARGE plate is awesome!

mr wok is one of the worst chinese food places ever on the world the ingrediants in the orange chicked is dog and the ingrediants in all the food are appalling i stopped going to mr wok 5 years ago its a horrible place. Mr wok needs to be sewed by a lawsuit and needs to be out of business.

First time trying Mr Wok and it was exactly what I expected. Average food for a good price. Don’t go in here with high expectations. I did go after lunch hour though so food could have been sitting there for a minute. Great portions though, so if you’re on a budget and hungry this is a solid place. Tangerine beef was horrible, do not go for that.

Have had food from here at least 3 times already. Will never go anywhere else for our Chinese food. The food is amazing, the service is very fast and friendly, the atmosphere is great you can dine in or take out, the portions are plentiful and the price point is amazing. 12$ for a 3 item combo with amazing portions. It is 100% worth it. The food is also amazing. There are a number of options to choose from. Fast service.
