This place has delicious food!! Leah was our waitress and she was super friendly and explained us all the menu of what was good and how it came and how you can swap things out. She was an all around awesome waitress. The customer service throughout the restaurant was amazing and it was a great atmosphere to be in we really had a good time. Their customer service was top notch something you don’t see in restaurants anymore. As mentioned the food was really good but our seafood could have been fried crispier for our liking being from Southeast Louisiana we like it crispy, but we weren’t aware that they would have fried it however we wanted it upon request. So I’d give 10/10****

We were here in off season; it wasn’t busy. The shrimp, baked potato and salad were ok. We were hungry after a day of travel. The service was friendly and efficient.

It was a great place to find as a tourist. The food was delicious southern soul food. Reminds me of meals I had a child with my family. Everything was homemade from scratch.

While round-tripping with the family, we stopped at Mr. Whiskers for a hearty dinner—and we’re so glad we did! It’s a good thing we arrived early because the restaurant filled up quickly. The place is clean, cozy, and has a charming rustic vibe.

We started with the onion blossom appetizer, which was a hit with everyone (especially the kids). For the main course, we ordered the seafood platter and shrimp po’boy—both were generous portions and absolutely delicious. The kids devoured the fries, shrimp, and onion blossom, and my oldest even discovered that she likes frog legs!

Our waitress was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and quick with refills. She made it easy to ask questions and accommodate substitutions. Service was fast, and everything came out hot and fresh.

Overall, it was a great meal and a great experience. We’ll definitely be stopping back the next time we’re in the area!

Some of the best catfish I have ever had, and I consider myself somewhat of an expert in the field of fried catfish. I have to dine here every time I come to or through McComb. All the other dishes are delicious as well. The buffet on Sunday afternoon is fabulous, even if you have to wait in line a few minutes. Also a great deal, right at $20, with tea and tax. Veggies, mac-and-cheese, desserts, all on point, just like sitting around a country dinner table.

We chose Mr. Whiskers because we were craving catfish and it was close to home. This was our first visit after the reopening. Staff did not acknowledge upon entering the restaurant. The take out containers for the sides for our meals weren’t even filled. It was $45 for two adults to each eat a plate of 6 pieces of filet catfish with two partially filled side containers. Thank god the famous coleslaw tastes how I remember. Be prepared to pay 3% to use a card because it’s 2025 and we are paying for the restaurant’s card machine/processing. If I had known this ahead of time, I would have made sure to bring my checkbook or cash. Honestly, I probably won’t be back anytime soon unless I just have a hankering for the coleslaw.

If you want some good seafood in the McComb area this restaurant is the place to go. I’ve been here several times and have never been disappointed! One time I ordered their grilled shrimp. It was delicious with what seemed like a hint of lemon/pepper flavor. I also love their sweet potato fries. The outside has a crunchy coating without being overdone and hard on the inside. Their fried shrimp and sweet potato, which I ordered another time, is also delicious. The onion blossom, which can be ordered as an appetizer, is simply delicious! I love the flaky breading they use on it. It will definitely be something our family will keep ordering!

Refused to except my gift cards. Was trying to get takeout due to poor restaurant service earlier this year. After 30+ years, I do not recommend anymore…

Food was piping hot ! Wait staff was very kind . The size of the fish overall was very small , but I’d probably return and just order the bigger portion .
Pictured is the small catfish plate w/ double fries .
