Excellent sushi. All locally sourced. The server was wonderfully helpful. They are very accommodating to gluten allergies with a Gluten-free menu. There was a very zen-like atmosphere. We are new to Maine and I believe we have found our local sushi place.

We were absolutely impressed with Mr. Tuna! The freshest seafood exceeded all expectations. The interior is stylish and thoughtfully designed, every detail (even the wallpaper in the restroom – my love! ) adds 100% to the charm. Service was top-notch and made the entire experience unforgettable. A place truly worth revisiting!

We heard about this place from another bartender and he was right! The freshest seafood, and hand made sushi rolls. The bluefin toro was amazing as well. The service was incredible (Thank you Jess) and the entire staff was very friendly. Do yourself a favor and get a meal here while you’re in town

Loved Mr. Tuna! We had already had dinner at another spot before coming here, but we didn’t want to leave Portland without trying it. So we got their famous hand rolls and some dessert and were pretty impressed by everything! Would recommend checking this place out.

My only regret is waiting so long to check out Mr. Tuna! The food was perfect and everything that I hoped it would be after hearing all the hype about this place. It felt like I finally had “real” sushi after trying the spicy scallop and crab roll. I also highly recommend the spicy tuna nachos and ice cream toasties (picture below). Both seem like they should just be some simple dishes but they were fantastic and something I’ve never had before. I cannot wait to go back to try more of the menu.

Mr. Tuna continues to impress. We ordered everything on the guest chef’s menu and even went back for seconds on the lobster, tuna, and razor clams — which should say something. Everything was fresh, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious.
I gave 4 stars for food only because, for me personally, a 5 has to be either completely unique or the best version of something I’ve ever had. This was fantastic across the board, just nothing that quite crossed into that “all-time best” category for me.
Still an outstanding experience, and we’ll definitely be back.

This place was amazing through and through. They have an amazing VERY modern Japanese aesthetic and an even better set of flavors. From home brewed soy sauce to specials based on what came off the docks that day it was better than anything I’ve had and I’ve had a lot of sushi over the years. Just a perfect experience.
