We are visiting Galveston and are always looking for plant-based options. Mr. Taco Cantina did not disappoint! Not only were the margaritas fantastic, so too was the service and food. I’m not a fan of refried beans, but their vegan refried beans were the tastiest I’ve ever had—and I’m very picky. Our server remembered that I didn’t want salt on my margaritas (I didn’t have to remind him when I asked for another) and he also remembered that I didn’t ant cilantro (yup, it tastes like soap to me). Unfortunately, they were out of the plant based beef & chicken, so I had the chorizo (and huch I often do not like) but it wasn’t bad. We hope to come back for the other options later during our stay!
I almost forgot! We also had the guacamole and salsa with chips. OMG, so good! Even with the cilantro (which was big enough to remove) it was delicious. It was so smooth and just the right hint of spicy (& I’m sensitive to spicy). Note: the salsa, it’s spicy!

Visiting from out of town and we were a bit concerned about finding plant based options in the area and then came across this little gem. This place wa fantastic. Great plant base options, the service was amazing. The margaritas were great to boot. Food is high quality. The chips and guac was excellent, probably even ate a bit too much before the great main dish. I had to he vegan sopes with chorizo option. Unfortunately they didn’t have any of the other plant base meat options available at the time, but it will still great. We will be back to try others when they get the delivery.

We had a pleasant visit. They were not busy at all at 5:30 pm Thursday afternoon. We ordered combination (shrimp & fish) ceviche and arrived beautifully plated. However, the shrimp was missing. Since we were not checked on, we had to inconveniently get up and ask for a corrected dish from the lady (staff?) standing at the bar. I don’t know if the waiter failed to write it down or there was a miscommunication in the kitchen. Bottom line, the waiter confirmed 3 times and it came out wrong. No big deal I guess but there was only one other couple dining at the time. Not sure what the problem was.
Their sweet tea was delicious. We shared the street tacos – 2 carne asada & 2 pastor. Food was tasty. Restaurant clean. Nice view of the beach, plenty of free parking.

First time visit, finally I have stop to try this place. I was very surprised when I walked in the restaurant. Super cozy and super clean. We stayed at Galveston for 3 days. We started with the Guacamole appetizer, lively molcajete and crunchy and tasty chicharrones. Well served and very delicious along with a spicy green sauce.
We tried the Carnita tacos served with rice and beans aka charra super fresh, the torta with carne asada along with French fries good amount chicken tenders with fries for our kid. Food was great and service was too so definitely made us feel like coming back to try different dishes.

I took myself on a NYE date. Ordered a delicious strawberry margarita and enjoyed the vibes of great music and friendly service. They gave me a celebratory New Year hat too. Unfortunately the kitchen was closed by the time I got there so I will have to go back to try the food.

Came in with the family, starving from a long flight and car ride. Javi and the team did not disappoint! Started with the guac with chip and some great margaritas. Our boys had the nachos and birria tacos. Absolute gem of a place from atmosphere to food to service. An amazing start to our family vacation.

Came in late on a Friday night. We were greated at the door and quickly taken to a table. To our surprise, we saw a shark dancing who was offering shots. It was incredible and very entertainingto watch! This place was on fire and the vibe was definitely on pace for a good time.
For entertainment, there was a guy playing a sax with a track playing in the background. Check out the video, he was really good.
Our drinks were served cold and with big smiles from the wait staff.
The food was pretty good, but it was shadowed by the overall atmosphere, service and music.
I would rate the atmosphere a 7 out of 10. The service was a 10 out of 10. The food and drink, 6.5 out of 10.
