My husband and I have been coming here for years. I was really excited to try Omakase for the first time at the best sushi restaurant in Dallas. Unfortunately we were served by someone who has only been there for a month or so, he was the only guy at the sushi bar that wasn’t Asian, and he had something to prove. Since we only got the happy hour version as we didn’t know any better, the sushi “chef” informed us that he couldn’t properly showcase “his skills”. He had no idea how to serve omakase as it means “as you like”, meaning the chef prepares individual unique pieces he masterfully creates for you. We might as well have ordered random plain pieces off the sushi poster on the wall. The fish was great bc all the fish is great at this restaurant but what a waste of $120 for the two of us to just get 10 plain pieces of fish on rice with wasabi and maybe a dash or a sprinkle of a raw ingredient. Apparently this chef’s skills couldn’t be displayed for “less than $100 a person to start.” Glad we didn’t pay for that to be our first experience. Really wish we could’ve been helped by any of the other chef’s at the bar. This guys needed to validate “his skills” needed more than a 10 piece ramp up. Missing Patrick. He was the one that inspired me to order the omakase in the first place. He and the other chefs would’ve done it right, Mr Sushi style. We were so disappointed. It was the first time we left so quickly and didn’t order a round for the bar. Our chef seemed to want to dominate the entire bar with “his skills”. Sorry guys. We will be back but we won’t be dining under that chef again.

Best place in Dallas for authentic Japanese cuisine. Sitting at the front sushi bar was just a pleasant delight. Seija was our sushi chef and made it just a comfortable and engaging experience. Highly recommended.

While in Texas, Mr Sushi is a must. Ben aka Mr Sushi himself made and served our sushi. Lucky us! Never even touched a menu, he delivered an amazing variety of the house specialties. What a royal treat! Fresh and delicious! Mushroom soup, fresh pairs, colorful and tender, hand rolls, with perfectly cooked sushi rice and the grand finale was rum cake with green tea ice cream. The presentation and execution was a ten out of ten.
Also, wanted to give a shout out to Leo, who made us a special melt in your mouth salad, as well as spoiled us with Hi-Chew and Poky.
Fabulous experience! Left full, but already planning our next visit.
Thank you for the phenomenal experience! Cheers!

We came here for the happy hour omakase experience and it was nothing short of amazing! Definitely some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. I’ve been to Japan and can tell you this place is so authentic. I can’t believe we have a sushi place this good in Dallas. I would highly recommend to anyone, 10/10 experience. From the staff, to the atmosphere, to the food, everything was absolutely incredible.

Dude OMG I’ve been living in the Galleria/Addison area for a year and didn’t know about this place. Smoothest freshest Sushi, intimate atmosphere, great location and hospitable staff. I couldn’t say enough good things. Really affordable too, great date spot.. I’m toxic as hell not for me but for you; great date spot bro. Tell them I sent you. It’s a great Sushi spot probably one of the best in Dallas low key.

Really good Japanese spot! Had no idea it has been open for 40 years. The floors are carpet! I’m a fan of that.
The udon was my favorite dish here. The noodles were good and the broth was tasty. I also liked the una don (grilled eel). The chicken katsu curry was also great.
I liked their chicken karaage over some other Japanese spots that serve the same dish. It was noticeably good. The unagi (eel) sushi was delicious.
Definitely order Monaka for dessert! It’s like a Japanese ice cream sandwich, basically. The ice cream is inside wafers! It’s really good. We had vanilla. The other ice cream flavor for Monaka was green tea, but we had ordered a scoop of green tea ice cream and mango ice cream as well and didn’t like either of them. I suggest vanilla for Monaka.
Really friendly staff and great service! I wouldn’t be opposed to returning for a second visit.

I HAVE THE BEST TIME ALWAYS AT MR SUSHI. They have the most creative sushi chef in Dallas behind the bar.

I came here on a whim, as I was in the area. Walking in, I noticed the table clothes, which clued me into the fine dining experience to come. Yes, their options are on the more expensive side of DFW sushi prices. However, they deliver with their creative menu and high-quality fish. I first ordered the Devil Roll, which has “extremely hot” yellow mustard. I take these warnings seriously, but usually, the warnings are unfounded for me, personally. I, therefore, was pleasantly surprised when it burned like wasabi but with more of a kick. Based on my research afterward, I believe it was karashi, but I didn’t explicitly ask the waiter, so please don’t take my word for it. I’m always up for new experiences, so it was nice to try a roll with an ingredient I don’t think I’ve had before. I also ordered the Tiger Eye, which I understood was riceless, so I was not at all surprised by its size. It was warm, with an interesting combination of flavors. I enjoyed the unique sushi dining experience and will likely be back.

We got 3 rolls, edamame and chicken karage. The bill was $55. We got a hole in one roll, a rainbow roll and the devil roll. The devil roll was supposed to be very spicy but it was not. The other 2 rolls were ok but the ingredients could have been fresher. The avacado was not fresh and the fish was a bit dry (not shiny on top) and it was not sweet like it is when it was fresh. Overall I think it was overpriced and there was no wow factor. The restaurant itself was pleasant and tranquil and the staff was nice.
